Fast, smooth, and effective, the inertia springs open with a single flick of the thumb. The nylon handle reduces weight, making this a convenient everyday carry knife. The heavy duty fasteners enhance the durable construction, while maintaining an elegant look.

I think I love it. :)
Wow, the blade is impressive. The shape and size and the finish... I love it. I whittled with it the first day pretty hard core on some oak and some soft pine. It's still razor sharp, and I mean I was grinding and chopping on this wood like a SOB. Okay, so the one-hand assist, it works pretty darn good. Not as fast as some, but functional. It has this locking mechanism that takes some getting used to that clicks down to keep the blade from opening, and when the blade is open, it clicks into the spine so the spine is nice and smooth. However, when it isn't locked down in between these positions, it's steel just loose against steel so it makes a clicking noise. lol But it's not broken or even a poor design, just how it was built. So far I love this knife. I just bought it for an everyday carry knife. Previously had a Kershaw Cryo blackwash which I loved but lost. The steel wasn't anywhere near this quality. It was way softer. Buck knives are just amazing blades.

Great Budget EDC
I bought this as a replacement EDC (Every Day Carry) knife. The handle, though some type of nylon material, feels great in hand and is a great weight. The blade, 420HC steel, seems to hold a sharpened edge fairly well; with my old EDC I was having to re-sharpen the blade bi-weekly (little to moderate use) I've been using this one for near a month and it's still as sharp as the day I received it. The locking mechanisms keep the blade closed (cam lock, spine of handle) or opened (steel liner lock) well to keep any accidents from happening, and are easy to operate to open/close the knife. The assisted opening mechanism works well enough, not as fast as my old Buck 297, but definitely smoother.Dimensions (Approx): 7.75" total length opened, 5.5" closed, 3" usable blade, .5" thick (not including pocket clip), .75" thick (including pocket clip)All in all, if you're looking for a new EDC knife, I'd highly recommend. Great feel, weight, and size coupled with the smooth assisted open and Buck's lifetime warranty make this a no-brainer.

A new Buck knife is always good to hold in your hand
A new Buck knife is always good to hold in your hand! The fit & finish are great, the feel is right. That "extra" lock on top will take a touch of getting used to, I'm not sure if I like it or not yet.

Great simple knife for light use.
I purchased 2, one for my son. His was easily opened & closed on 1st use. Mine not so much. We've had them approximately 3 months, and mine has just started loosening a bit. I checked his hardware & all we're tight, same as mine, so manufacter of the machined components must be the issue. They hold an edge and are great at fishing & cracking blue crabs. I would purchase a better blade for the Trades or any role where this knife could mean your life. All in all, a good basic, easy to clean daily light work blade.

Spring assist broke - no longer one handed open
After about 6 months the spring broke and now it takes two hands to open. The blade is good size and stays sharp; so, that is good. But I am very disappointed about the spring assist.

Great knife! Came in a new box and works great! Good company and I like their Christian foundation which makes the product much better for me. Made in USA and in my opinion is better than kershaw link! Deep carry plus saftey for in the pocket!

Great knife but...
Great knife but if it gets a little dirty the assisted opening don’t work well.

Bad blade steel
I have several buck knives and the steel on the blade is dull and looks terrible. Thought I would get a little bigger knife than the 290 that i have been using forever but this knife blade does not come close to the 290 steel blade. Very disappointed!!
