Drennan Series 7 9-30 Float Reel

Great reel for the price, nice and smooth, the spare spools add extra value, and the line caps to tell you what line is on the spools is a good touch.

Having already purchased the feeder version of this reel and been very pleased with it I decided to buy the float version and was not disappointed with it's performance with the 6 bearings giving it a really smooth action. One of the most pleasing aspects of both reels is that they come with spools that only need 100mts of line to fill them to the top which avoids purchasing unnecessary line or using some backing line . The drag is excellent and easily adjusted. For the pleasure angler who doesn't want to spend the sort of money that the matchmen do but want a reel a bit better than a really cheap basic one you would be hard pressed to beat this one.

Reel small compact and lightweight should sit well on trotting rod.did not like composite spools so i purchased 2 more Alloy ones at areasonable price from Matchman supplies.

Drennans first foray into reels, a quality product that I would recommend to any one, both regular anglers and beginners alike, my next purchase will be the Series 7 9-40 light feeder reel.
