My picky-eating dogs
My dogs are both very funny when it comes to their food adding the food topper made everything more smooth. Not only do both my dogs enjoy the food topper I have not once seen an empty bowl from either of them I highly recommend it.

An extremely picky eater!
My 9 1/2 year old Sheltie girl has become an extremely picky eater and out of convenience I went to Amazon reviews looking for a food enhancer. She loves home cooked meals the best and will eat those, but our vet has her on Hill’s Science Diet g/d for beginning kidney disease. She won’t eat it unless it’s enhanced with protein, which defeats the purpose of the prescription low protein diet. I ordered the double pack of Solid Gold Nutrient Boost Seasoning Topper. At first she wouldn’t touch her food, but later she ate it out of my hand and then gobbled it out of her dish. I thought, yay, success! Then a very short while later her entire meal came up. Did I sprinkle on too much, I don’t know. The directions are a bit vague, because they state something about a tablespoon for 15 pounds. I used much less than that, but the fine powder comes out very fast. Maybe it was the unknown “digestive enzymes.” I don’t know, but I’m very disappointed and plan to show the product to our vet on Monday.

Another win for Solid Gold
I have been a fan of Solid Gold for years. I have fed past and present dogs their food and supplements ans never been disappointed. Still not disappointed! This food topper is a great way to get picky pets to eat, pets to take a pill that's in their food or just to give your pet a little something extra. My dogs absolutely love the flavor. It's basically pumpkin and cheese, what's not to love? It's not only a treat for them, but it also contains proteins and Amino acids to help promote digestion and immunity health. The bottle is easy to use, it's like a spice bottle or a parmesan cheese shaker.

Mixed Reviews From My Dogs
I got this mostly because my 10-month-old puppy is very fussy about eating. With four dogs in the household who all eat at the same time, if one doesn't finish when the others are done, he doesn't get the rest of his food until later when I can feed him alone. This particular pup didn't change his fussy ways when I started using this so he's apparently not impressed with the taste or texture.I did use this for all the dogs, however, because it's nutrient dense and pumpkin flavored, and I considered it a treat for them. The other fussy dog in the household, a golden doodle, has eaten her food with this sprinkled on. That's a big plus because some days she leaves half her bowl and is just not interested no matter what I add. My little cockapoo seems to like it too. She hasn't turned away from her food and gobbles it right down. I also have a senior citizen poodle mix who eats everything I give her but I noticed over the past week that if I give her a full tablespoon, she has loose stools the next day. I stopped giving it to her for a few days and she was okay so I gave it to her again yesterday and during the night and all day today she's had diarrhea. So, no more for her. I'm not saying the product is the cause but she seems to be sensitive to it, unless it's a coincidence. So, we have about a 50/50 positive experience in our house. But because it's got healthy ingredients, I'm going to keep giving it to the cockapoo and trying a little at a time with the other two. I just can't give it a whole-hearted five stars.

Good quality
I like to try different products to see if I can get my picky eater to eat more consistently, so I was happy to give this one a try. Typically, he just needs something to get him started so he will eat, so I am always on the lookout for a good food topper. This does help to entice my picky dog sometimes, but it is not 100% effective. He still has days when he eats and days where he decides it isn't good enough. However, this does seem to be one of the more effective products I have tried, so I am happy with it.This product certainly seems to be of good quality, with good, limited ingredients. I have been happy with other Solid Gold products I have tried for my dogs, so I assumed this one would not disappoint there. The jars are labeled with all the important information; feeding guidelines, ingredients, guaranteed analysis, calorie content, manufacturing info and expiration date. The expiration date was a little more than 1.5 years from purchase. I love that this is a nice, shelf stable option. It recommends 1 tbsp per 15 pounds. Each tablespoon contains 27 kcals, so that may be something to consider if you don't want to add a lot of calories. The jar has a nice shake top lid that you can use to easily dispense the topper, but that is more difficult if you want to measure the amount you give. It is very handy if you are happy to just eyeball it. The lid will easily unscrew to a wide mouth jar if you prefer to measure it accurately. I really don't use the recommended amount, because I find that just a sprinkle will do fine. This will also make this product last longer, which is always a plus. My picky dog has also had some issues with digestion, so I am happy with the added nutrient boost in this product. I don't use it consistently enough to determine if it helps for sure, but I don't think it hurts. I don't like to use this on all of his meals because I want it to remain enticing for him and he seems to get bored quickly. I like to keep this in the rotation of some of my other options. I feel that this is one of the better options I have tried for my picky pup, but of course, every picky pup is different! I think it is worth a try though.

Delayed response… but good.
Picky Pomsky approved. Initially it was a no go but reintroduced with tiki baked kibble and he liked it.
