Terrific and versatile
I love this thing. It is in a completely different league from other paint scrapers I have used. It works very well on paint, but actually I mostly use it as a wood scraper, for fine trimming and shaping. It's comfortable, and it's built like a tank - I think the body is an aluminum casting.

Paint scraper
Have not had a chance to attempt to use. Was so irritated with product that after it was reassembled to the point if being able to use I didn't want to even look at it. Nothing like opening a new product to find it broke and wasting my hard earned money.

Surprisingly excellent tool
Scrapes bumps .off of painted wall better than any other tool I have ever owned. Blade stays sharp for a very long time. I bought this as a second tool of the same kind I had so my son-in-law could work with one at the same time and keep it for the future. Amazing blade is brittle, so do not drip tool on cement surface.

Time Saver
Every once in a while I purchase an item that works so well I wonder how I ever lived without it. This is one of those items. Before I purchased this I was refinishing the steps in my front foyer stripping the old finish with chemical stripper. I used a soy based stripper that isn't all that toxic, it worked, but it was still messy and time consuming. I purchased this tool just after completion of that project. It would have saved me a ton of time had I known. My front foyer only contains 3 steps. It took me nearly 4 days to get down through the old varnish with the stripper and scraping with a putty knife. I decided to refinish the steps leading to my second floor. With this tool I had stripped all 12 steps down in about an hours time. Made for much less sanding in the end. I also used it to remove dried landscape adhesive from some concrete retaining wall blocks I reused. Worked great for that too. Stripped paint off wood like it never even dried on there. You do have to be careful not to gouge the wood though. I purchased the Hyde carbide scraper over others because I assumed it was made in the USA. It turns out only the blade is made in the USA and the rest is Assembled in the US. I guess that's better than most. All in all it's worth its weight in gold for the time it has saved me over numerous projects. Blades can be resharpened a few times with a cheapy harbor freight diamond block.

Works great, I only have one issue with itWhen scraping, you are scraping such a wide space that you have to put a fair amount of pressure on it to get anything done. It is almost easier to use a smaller scraper multiple times rather than this large one.

The only scraper I'll use!
This is the best scraper I've ever used. Only problem was I could never find blades to replace till now.
