Excellent printer awful support
We bought two of these, the second one some months after the first. Eventually they both started showing errors that were not listed in the manual or online. The error had to do will trying to wake up. We updated the firmware to the newest version and disabled sleep mode. We still got error, but less often. We then called tech support and it was truly horrible tech support. We are a computer business with about 15,000 customers and we do tech support for our computers so we know what its like. If our tech support was like Oki's tech support we would be out of business. Buyer beware: you are on your own and forget the warranty.

OKI C712 A Company who doesn't stand behind their products OKI that is
I had a Oki 5800 which was great this is the reason I bought another OKI C712 Laser printer. But I AM NOT REAL HAPPY WITH THE WARRANTY FROM OKI AS MY C712 WAS OUT OF WARRENTY BY ABOUT THREE MONTHS. I HAD CALLED THEM DURING THE WARRENTY PERIOD ASKING ABOUT THE READINGS I WAS READING ON MY PRINTER. THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK INTO THE READINGS AND GET BACK WITH ME. AS TIME MOVED ON, I FOTGOT ABOIUT IT AND JUST ACCEPTED IT. LITTLE DID I KNOW, THE DOOR LATCH OR LATCH ON MY SECOND INK CARTAGE WAS GOING BAD, IT FINALLY WENT BAD AND OKI BRUSHED ME OFF. THE REASON I BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE WAS I HAD ABOUT 1000.00 IN INK CARTAGES FOR MY C712 I WOULD HAVE TO DUMP ALONG WITH THE JUNK PRINTER OKI WOULD NOT STAND BEHIND AND FIX.AMOZON DID A REAL NICE JOB OF KEEPING THEIR WORLD DELIVERING THE NEW C712 TO MY DOOR AND IT WAS PRICED RIGHT TOO. AMAZON HAS ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF THE THINGS I HAVE PURCHASED FROM THEM. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO YOU.

It replaced my trusted Oki c5400, 15 yr, 200K pages. And I like it.
I like that I can print in just mono, not using the color ink . It is very fast ( compared to the c5400) very crisp printing. That is after 1 month of owning it and printing about 5K pages.

The WORST purchase I have ever made!
I purchased an Oki Data c712 printer from Adorama. The first one came damaged from shipping, as well as defective. I called Adorama and they told me I had to go to the manufacturer to get any help. The Oki Data customer service was horrendous. I did everything they asked me to time and time again, and the brand new, out of the box, printer was getting worse by the day. They sent a technician out to work on the printer and he even said the printer was not even worth trying to fix. I called Oki Data again and was told that there was nothing they could do for me. They wouldn't send out a replacement printer, and they kept brushing me off. They kept saying that they would have talk to "TIER TWO" and to call the next day, and kept putting me on hold time and time again. The printer was just days old and they wouldn't stand by their product. About a week went by, and I went through a ream of paper and a ton of toner trying everything they said to get it to work. It never worked. It made a horrible noise, the factory magenta toner was leaking everywhere, there were lines on every printout. Finally, I called Adorama again and they allowed me to send it back for a refund, but I had to purchase another printer for $750 if I wanted a new one in the meantime. I decided to take the risk because I thought maybe I just had a bad one because it was damaged. Well, I spent another $750 and this one is just as bad as the first one, if not worse. The printer states that it can handle ultra heavyweight card stock up to 250 gsm and that is a complete lie. If I feed anything thicker than a text weight paper through the MP tray, it comes out with lines across the printout, every 3 inches. The print quality is better on my $100 printer. I own a small card making business and I have been printing for years. I have never had problems like this. Every Oki Data sponsored review and video I watched said this printer can cater to the graphics market and that it should bring costs down and quality up. Don't believe any of that. I purchased all different kinds of paper, all within the specified weights and types that this printer is supposed to handle, and they all didn't work. It might work for anything you are printing in-house, but they are not acceptable for anything you would like to send out or sell. You can buy a printer for less than half the price for that and get better results, with WAY cheaper consumables. The toner for this printer is OUTRAGEOUS, but again I foolishly thought it would be worth the gamble. The printer itself was awful but its even worse that the drivers are not compatible with a Mac, even though it says it is. Yet another lie. I get an error almost every time I try to print. I called customer service and was told that I would have to downgrade my operating system for it to work correctly. This is not acceptable from any reputable company. I have been in tears over these stupid printers. Now I have spent over $1000 trying to get these to work and now I am stuck with an expensive 80 pound piece of garbage that I have only had for less than two weeks. It's not even worth trying to get help from Oki Data anymore. They are about as useless as the printer is. I already know they will not help. I hope this review can save anyone else the money and the complete hassle that I have been through. You and your business will be so much better if you do not purchase an Oki Data printer.

Great printer for making heavy business cards and greeting cards
This is an incredible printer and does the heavy card stock we wanted to use in making our gift greeting cards at XLDCARDS and also the business cards we produce at our TAKE-A-CARD site.

Purchased 2 of these and they've worked well.
No complaints. They have a lot of fine tuning in the web menus for color accuracy. Seem well built. Had to call tech support for firmware issue on one, but was quickly resolved. Would recommend.
