Great, sharp on the bottom, piece of plastic. We use this one by our backdoor to protect our new carpet. Took a while to lay flat. We sat it out in the hot sun for a bit before using. We didn't notice any off putting smell. Highly recommend it!

This mat is completely terrible! It takes forever to actually flatten out after you unroll it and your chair doesn't really roll on it because it is softer material. If you have a rolling chair, the casters actually make indents in this crappy plastic. It is really poorly made, poorly designed, not the right material for a rolling chair mat. There are just no two ways about it. This is a completely useless product and I have to get another one.

The Large Chair Mat for Carpet works well in our office and helps protect the carpet. The chair glides smoothly most of the time, though the wheels can occasionally create small dents that the chair rolls back into. Overall, it still does its job and is a good floor protector.

I know people have struggled to unroll this. But this may help someone. 1.Take it out of the box & remove ties. 2. Place it in full sun (outside if possible). Let set for an hour. 3. Get at least 3 heavy items (brick). Try to unroll it bristles up as far as you can. 4. Let heat up more going back in an hour; repeat process. 5. When it's completely enroll; flip it over then put heavy item on the corners again. 6. Let heat up in the sun again. Try to flatten; it won't be perfect but you can now use it under your chair.

I would buy a thicker mat. This mat is 0.1" thick and that is not thick enough to prevent the chair wheels from sinking in so the chair no longer moves freely. I am 160 lbs The chair has 5 castor wheels. The carpet is standard office carpet (not plush or thick). After about 1 hour the wheels sink in so the chair no long moves freely on the mat. This did not happen with my previous mat which I had to replace after about 20 years.

This mat is too thin. There are dents from my chair wheels sitting on it. Eventually these dents will make it difficult to move around on the mat.

When this arrived rolled up, I was a little dubious that it would unroll, but I sat it by our baseboard heater for a few days, and with some elbow grease, it unrolled. Once it was unrolled and rested flat for a while, installing it was pretty easy. I recommend wearing thick gloves (I used oven mitts) when setting it up, because the spines that hold it to the carpet are sharp enough to be annoying. I've only had it for a few days, but it looks to be really high quality and I don't think I'm going to need to replace it for a long long time!

We live in rented accomodation and house has just had new carpets fitted as we moved in. We brought this for home office to protect the carpet from the wheels on the office chair. It was a little tricky to get it unfolded and in place, but after using it for sometime it is suhc an amazing product. It stays in place and has protected the carpet as intended. Woud highly reccomend this to anyone who wants to protect a carpet from office chair wheels.

It comes rolled up and is very very very hard. You have to warm it to unroll it. The spikes on the back make that difficult and painful. It takes 2 people to unroll it I had mine as pinned as possible against the radiator trying to soften it. It is still not flat. I believe Argos do a flat pack one at half the price!
