Blue review
This is a decent entry level train set, featuring one of the newer trains on the UK rail network. As with most Hornby products it's not inexpensive, but if you can get a set like this for £50 or less consider it a bargain. It comes with the usual bits and bobs - set of points,track mat etc - but if you get 'the bug' having set it all up my advice is to ..1. Pick up a monthly 'train set' magazine for inspiration and ideas2. Visit your local model shop & have a look round3. Check online for local 'toy fairs' - these are great & much train set stuff can be acquired for not much dosh !4. Acquire a good book about building a layout - The Haynes guide to model railways is good, or search online for ideasHappy train setting

Rapier Train Set from Hawkins Bazaar
Not happy with the product, tried to contact Hornby numerous times, but nobody seems to be there. With credit to Hawkins Bazaar they had returned my contact as soon as they returned from the Christmas holidays on the 4th, apologised for the faulty item and agreed to a refund. However this is a disappointing in the sense my son was looking forward to playing with this train set for Christmas, he loves trains. After their suggestion, I will return the item, with a courier they use and have a refund as they have no replacements... In my view for a company as reputable as Hornby, their sets are not good quality. I always regarded Hornby as the Rolls Royce of Train Sets, perhaps over the years they have declined in quality.

On opening the box, no control box inside, so had to get one from another source. Also un;less the track is on a fairly flat surface, the tarin dosen`t work. But then what do you expect.

Price was ok, delivery ok, headaches along the way. Please understand Hornby make a more detailed model of the same train for considerably more money so make sure you select the right one. The brochure in the set misleads people to believe the railroad carriage has tinted windos etc, It has black windows with very little detail. ( But i did mention a low price )

Rubbish
The train was faulty it would not sit the rails and kept jumping off!!!I have got my money back but no postage which was£12

Don't buy this product!!
This is a cheap, sub-standard product. My controller came faulty and it will only work for few seconds after I've fiddled with adapter connection or turning the mains on/off but as the train go half circle the power light on controller would turn off. This was suppose to be my son's birthday present & it was disappointing to see Amazon sending faulty product to their customers.
