Very thorough look at the importance of Self-Discipline
This book does a great job of explaining the art and science of self-discipline. It’s an interesting read that includes stories, examples, and, for me, most importantly strategies on how to improve. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it anyone who is looking to understand how to improve BUT then wants to know how to do it.

A great read.
The fact that this book has the science and statistics to back what happens with the people who are disciplined is great. Lots of different things attribute to being disciplined and consistent. This book covers it with studies and research. Im finishing it up now and I will recommend this book to anyone who wants to be disciplined.

Explains so much about becoming more disciplined!
Now that I've read and highlighted the action points in this amazing book, my next step is to transcribe key passages onto index cards to make daily review easier.

Thorough and powerful
I don't leave many reviews but I had to for this book since I felt that I got so much out of it, I might as well tell other people about it. In short, it's a stellar and dense read about what motivates people and our brains, and how we can short circuit that and take advantage of it to our self-discipline. It's important to understand what you are battling in procrastination, perfectionism, distractions, and lack of motivation, and that's all addressed here. Honorable mention on the characterization of motivation as a temporary state of mind, where discipline is more automatic. Then more about habit formation and longer lasting behavior modification. Fascinating section on dopamine control, as well as application of the 40% rule that the military has become famous for.Far more than you'd expect but still very accessible and applicable. Overall, just fantastic.

Amazing start to self discipline
This is the second book of the author that i have read. This book is straightforward with the perfect balance of action steps and "why" they matter. I dislike being told what to do without being told why to do it. This book is a perfect balance of action backed by science.
