Simple machine for great tasting coffee
First impressions1. Its a large machine so making sure you have the space for it first is important.2. Classy looking, almost like what a hotel would have or self service coffee machine that they have in car dealerships.3. Set up relatively easy as mentioned instructions provided are very generic but a quick youtube guide from delonghi will provide you with all the help.Usage1. Loud on initial start up but this is mentioned in the setup guide2. Grinds beans well just remember you can adjust the grind size (mine is currently set on size 2 which seems like a good overall setting)3. First few usage you will have to keep going back to the set up guide for any customized settings (you will understand once you have the machine)Coffee1. Depending on the settings you are able to create your perfect cup (did not use the machine on default settings to make my first cup so can not comment on how well this is done)2. Fresher coffee beans do make a more flavorsome cup but also I find that the machine itself will help with extracting a very full body coffee regardless of the freshness or price of the beans. (of course the fresher the beans the more flavor)3. Even with supermarket beans are able to enjoy a very tasty coffee (same beans used with a cafeteria, reusable tassimo pod and this bean to cup machine)3.1. Using the same beans with 3 different methods the Delonghi magnifica was able to produce nice (although thin before of the beans) crema, flavor was alot more intense too. (again down to the beans used)Cleaning1. Everything you want to clean comes out for easy cleaningMy cons1. The only thing I dont like is when removing the water tank it tends to scuff up the polished drip tray cover and to avoid this I either have to force the water tank upwards while pulling out or remove the entire drip tray before removing the water tank. (more of an annoyance for myself)ConclusionNot exactly budget but not exactly expensive either, for the coffee it produces regardless of beans used the flavor, convenience, looks and maintenance, its a joy to have and I look forward to firing up this machine in the morning.

great first experience
As someone completely new to coffee machines, the De'Longhi Magnifica was a great first experience.I was a bit nervous at first, but it turned out to be much easier than I expected. The soft-touch control panel is very intuitive – everything is clearly labeled and simple to use, even for a beginner. It offers four one-touch recipes, and so far I’ve tried the espresso and cappuccino – both came out delicious. The milk frothing nozzle is manual but easy to control, and it creates a smooth, creamy foam that really upgrades the drink. The size of the machine is just right – not too bulky, and it fits nicely on the kitchen counter. You can adjust the cup size and coffee strength easily, and the coffee bean and water capacity is more than enough for several cups before needing a refill. In terms of cleaning, it's surprisingly low maintenance. The trays and tanks are easy to remove and rinse, and it even gives alerts when it needs cleaning or descaling. As for coffee quality – it’s excellent. The machine grinds the beans fresh for every cup, and you can really taste the difference in richness and aroma compared to instant or pre-ground coffee.Overall: If you're new to coffee machines and want something straightforward, reliable, and capable of making great coffee, this machine is a solid choice.

Delonghi...the best always
My Delonghi Dedica died with overheating problems and a leak.... after nearly 10 years that is!I looked at several other machines, sent them all back (even the Breville was Chinese!).I was concerned that the 'automatic' machines had too much to potentially go wrong with them but eventually settled on this Delonghi Magnifica. As expected fromDelonghi, it works superbly, does what it claims to do and the quality of manufacture and design, although largely plastic, is high.Using Lavazza coffee beans I can honestly say that in my 60 years of coffee drinking - I started when I was 10 - of all the many coffee machines I have owned, this is the first to produce the same quality and taste as I get in my local bar in France. Truly. If it keeps working - and it probably will if properly maintained - it will be the best coffee machine I have had.Yes, the grinder is noisy; the machine makes all kinds of whirring noises, lights flash and it sounds complex when it starts up but the end result is very strong, perfect espresso and cappuccino. It will also make weaker coffee of various 'American' types if you're not up to the real stuff and it cleans itself upon shutdown and has very many other features. One other thing; the instructions are incomprehensible, so watch the videos instead.A superb machine for £320.

Waist of time and money
Worked well for a few months but had got progressively worse and worse over the past 6months. I descale it and clean all other bits as instructed yet often it stops pouring half way through a cycle. This is the 2nd DeLongi coffee machine I have had in 2 years and will never buy another one. Tired of constantly cleaning and waisting coffee that does not brew

Happy so far
The machine was relatively easy to setup and quite intuitive to use. It’s a bit loud but anyone used to grinding coffee beans knows it’s never quiet. First few coffees had a bit of a plastic taste so I did have to waste a few espressos dumping those out initially. Not worth using the larger coffee buttons because it takes forever. If you want an americano just do an espresso and add hot water from the kettle

Excellent machine well worth the money
This is a brilliant machine which produces excellent coffee. Grinds tne beans to your taste and so many adjustments means it suits everyone. Excellent frothy milk too. Recommend watching the YouTube video for all the adjustments as the manual doesn’t go into enough detail!
