Q: Can sounds be turned off permanently?

Kinda mixed answer. Yes until power goes off then you have to program again since microwave doesn't retain the settings. (thanks HFS for reference in manual) and (Oatmeal Mary....you should include hitting stop/reset as last step as not everyone can remember it especially if they have active little ones distracting them) 1) Unplug then plug in microwave 2) Press Start once. 3) Press Timer once to choose metric weight measurements (KG) or twice for (lb). 4) Press Start once to select "Beep Choice". 5) Press Timer once. The mode changes to Beep Off. 6) Press Stop/Reset to finish programming When you've done it correctly you should see a : in display settings. Have fun :)

Q: what are the outside dimensions?

Outside are 14" high, depth is a little over 19" and width is 24"

Q: Does it have a turntable?

Yes and many features that we are still discovering Ex: Want to defrost something ? Select the defrost button ,Display reads in Lbs when you punch the defrost button ,then enter the weight in Lbs and start. The smart function in the unit will defrost perfectly without cooking the edges. I just defrosted (2) 4 oz beef pattys ,which is 8 oz or 0.5 lbs... punched defrost , 0.5lbs and start.
