It has gravel in the mix.
I have a small metal melting furnace/forge and I cover the ceramic wool with refractory cement. This stuff has gravel in the mix, not uncommon but is not mentioned anywhere in the description. That's a tidbit of info I find important. I only coat my forge with 1/8 inch of refractory, gravel does not work for a smooth finish. I put the mix thru a screen and filtered out 1.5 lbs. of gravel out of my 4.5 lb. purchase. The description should mention gravel in the mix. Not happy with it so far.

Not what you expect
Bought this to line my foundry. Seems to be more like regular cement that you would use for your porch or walkway. Contains a large amount differing sizes of gravel. Not the “powder” that it’s advertised as .
