Q: Could this be used for solo lead climbing? Much like that of a Silent Partner?

It would be very dangerous to use it in this manner, because an ASAP requires a shock load to engage. You could have enough slack and friction in the system that would generate low forces over a period of time not letting the ASAP engage or engage fast enough. Its fine to use an ASAP as solo with top rope but there are better solutions. Petzl's recommended system for solo with top rope is an ascension and micro traxion.

Q: Polypropylene ropes are braided, can i use asap or asap lock for pp braided ropes?

No, the EN 1891 standard requires 10-13mm kermantle braid. If you want to be compliant under OSHA/ANSI it has to be Petzl 12mm Ray Rope.

Q: will this work with 12.7 mm rescue rope?

Yes, we are a technical rescue team and use 1/2" (12.5-13mm) static kernmantle rope. We use the Petzl ASAP as a belay and fall arrest device.
