Cabbage Shredder – The Unsung Hero of the Kitchen I never thought I’d get this excited about a cabbage shredder, but here we are. If you’re serious about sauerkraut, coleslaw, or any bulk vegetable prep, this tool is a game-changer. ✅ Pros: • Razor-sharp blades: This thing shreds cabbage into perfect, uniform ribbons in seconds. It’s honestly kind of fun to use. • Versatile: Also great for carrots, onions, potatoes—anything you want finely shredded. ⚠️ Cons: • Watch your fingers: Seriously. No safety guard on some models, so you need to pay attention or risk getting too close to the blades.

Took a few tries to figure out which angle to hold it at, but when you find that sweet spot it goes so smoothly! I have arthritic hands and I have never shredded cabbage so fast and easily. Worth the expense, for the comfort, ease of use and peeling capacity. I went from a large head of cabbage to a tamped down full Mason jar of shredded cabbage for sauerkraut is less than 20 minutes. The handle size is nice, edges of it are smooth so it is comfortable to grip and the blades are sturdy. I have only used this 4 times, but it seems to have the durability and sturdiness I was hoping it will have.

Such an amazing tool if you want to incorporate more cabbage into your diet. It makes quick work, peels and glides easily through the head of cabbage and leaving you with a ton of super-fine tendrils of slaw. It’s a great size, fits comfortable in your hand, and seems to hold up well to frequent use with no cracks or bends. I even bought one for my dad, who is a lifelong cabbage devotee. He initially tried to GIVE IT BACK TO ME (rude!) because he insisted that he likes his extra thin and didn’t want another unitasker. So I made him Japanese-style addicting cabbage slaw as a side with dinner one night, and he was instantly obsessed. He made me shave down more after dinner so he could see how to position it, and has already used it a few times over the week since (again, cabbage-obsessed). I used to kind of dread making slaw due to the annoyance of cutting everything down super fine and even, so I avoided it most of the time. Buy now it’s my laziest and most brainless base for a meal. Love this for me, my guts are so happy. Bonus Addicting Cabbage Recipe: Shave down like half a head of green cabbage. Sprinkle a little salt, sugar, chicken powder, sesame oil, and white pepper on top and mix very well to make the best dish ever. Maybe add some toasted sesame seeds on top. That’s it. That’s the recipe. Just don’t let it sit too long before serving because it softens quickly.

A Japanese man on IG makes these awesome looking cabbage dishes and use this shredder. It's wider than it looks in the photo. It does a fantastic job shredding cabbage. It's easy to use and does exactly as advertised.

This is a very good cabbage shredder. It shreds cabbage quicker than I can with a knife. The handle is comfortable to hold and the shredder is very sharp. There are some cons though. Once you shred down the cabbage and there’s not much left to hold onto you can accidentally shred your own hand because the shredder part is wide and very sharp. Maybe it doesn’t need to be as wide as it is. Also, once the cabbage gets shredded to a small piece, you can’t use the shredder to cut it anymore because it won’t be safe. This could lead to wasting the cabbage. You can cut the rest with a knife or some people may not want to bother getting out a knife and just throw it away which would be wasteful. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars because although it has cons, it’s still worth the money.

I am so delighted with this cabbage shredder. I've been looking at many cabbage recipes recently and wanted something to make shredding easier. I saw some expensive options and opted for this one which was highly reviewed and reasonably priced. It is fast and efficient.. works great. Great for carrots too. It is very sharp so watch the fingers. I kept the plastic cover that shields the blade..it snaps closed and for safety reasons consider keeping that.

It shred cabbages so well that sometimes I don’t even want cabbage but I just shred it cause it is so satisfying! So I ended up eating more cabbages. I usually just shred some, and add cucumber and salad dressing. Sometimes I eat with fried chicken.

After visiting Japan, I’ve been looking far and wide to recreate the shredded cabbage I’ve eaten there. If you’ve never been, the cabbage is sliced in a way where it’s so light and thin fluffy, when you eat it, there is no resistance, there is no crunchy bite. It’s quite different from American Coleslaw, where it’s cut pretty thick and has a crunch. There’s definitely use cases for both. I was trying to recreate by watching videos of Chef cutting the cabbage thinly, but still either I can’t cut it thin enough or it’s literally impossible, the cabbage still ended up crunchy. I was planning to pull the trigger on the rotating cabbage kun shaver for $160 to get the cabbage that I wanted. After seeing this product and looking up reviews on Amazon Japan website, I was willing to give it a try. I’m super glad I did!! It is very easy to use, the blades are sharp, and it resulted in much much less waste than when I was chopping it. I’ll be buying it again when it goes on sale! Highly recommend anyone who is interested to give it a shot. Cut a bit of the side of cabbage then use the shredder. Afterwards rinse the cabbage in cold water, drain, then put Japanese sesame dressing and enjoy!

Fab gadget! Makes slicing cabbage so much quicker and easier. Sharp, effective and good value. No complaints!

Great at shredding cabbage so evenly and so quickly!! The blades are very sharp so be careful with where you place your fingers when holding the cabbage. It’s also easy to clean with a rinse under the tap.
