So Far So Good
Quiet and effective. The shredder gets through shredding calmly and steadily without the screaming of a wood pulper. The bin is large and does not need emptying too frequently. It is also easy to get in and out. The shredder has a switch at the rear to swich it off when it is not being used which is good so that it is not left on automatic inadvertently. I am pleased with it so far.Update: May 2017. This shredder is still going strong and I have no issues with it. It is definitely a good buy that is worth the cost.Update April 2019 .I bought this in 2015 and it is still going strong. I have had no issues with it. I use it for shredding confidential papers that I no longer need for work as well as home stuff also so it gets a lot of use. This is the first shredder I have had that hasn't died after a short time. I would look for another of these if ever I needed to.

The best shredder i have ever had!
All of the five star reviews are actually true! This is a fantastic paper shredder and the best one I have ever bought. Other cheaper models have given up the ghost fairly quickly as I use a shredder a lot but this one keeps on going and in one evening produced 6 black bin liners of shredded strips with no trouble at all. It's very quiet and extremely efficient. Yes it's more expensive than some models but it is well worth the extra money.

REXEL RSS2434 Not too bad for a low to mid-use shredder
The good points are that it is not too heavy to move and has easy carry handles on the front and rear, and it is very quiet when shredding. It can also handle 10 or so pieces of paper easily but you do have to ensure the paper is pushed right down to activate the blades. It has a pullout drawer. The not so good points are it is a STRIP shredder, not cross shredder and shreds into very long strips but that is still pretty safe. The run time is not good at all, I think it states 16 minutes then has to cool down for 40 minutes so is ok if you shred as you go along or don't have a huge box to dispose of.The shredder comes with one paper bag for the shreddings which ripped as soon as I tried to remove it from the shredding bin so I ended up picking up lots of loose shreddings. The easiest way is to shred straight into the bin and empty into a large bag.I had an old REXEL Durasteel shredder and when they say, "they don't make them like they used to" they are not wrong. I had my old shredder for 20 years and it shredded a lot of paper, discs and credit cards and never put a foot wrong, unfortunately it was damaged in a flood so I have been looking for something as good as and this shredder seemed to be the best. The shreddings drawer slides out which is a much better design than the ones that you have to lift the top-heavy top off and find somewhere to lay it, then empty the bin.It is pricey for what it is but by far better than the £60 one I purchased which I needed to wear ear defenders to operate. So, in summary, a good enough shredder for home / home/office use but I am still disappointed in the run time and the bin emptying is not that easy, or mess-free.

Great for an office
Purchased this for work a little while ago now. It is good very sturdy and does the job well. I would definitely recommend this for a small office.

Amazing
Bought this to replace our old, tiny one and this one is amazingNot only is it quicker, it can do more pages at once, has a basket that's way easier to empty and easy to use it's also QUIET!Ok so yeah, there's a whirring noise but it's nowhere near as annoying as the old shredder that was so loud people couldn't stand to be in the same room as it.For a small to medium office, this is perfect.

What a dreadful and over priced shredder
This is without doubt the worst item of office equipment I have ever bought!I have waited a few weeks to see if it has any redeeming features and it hasn't.It registers full after shredding just a dozen or so sheets of A4, it has a ridiculous insert that holds a plastic bag which is full after half a dozen sheets (that went to the tip after a week), and it is nowhere near as good as the last Staples own brand shredder I had for years until it broke due to disengagement of the shredding rotors and the electric motor after faithful service for 15 years. It is grossly over-priced, gets full within less than a minute and is an utter pain to empty because instead of a removeable bin, like my old shredder, it has a front opening door so all the shredded paper can fall on the floor and need picking up and putting in a bin bag, repeatedly because the flappy paddle at the bag which shuts it off is easily triggered.

Let down by penny pinching!
Great machine, shreds everything with gusto!Disappointed by the collection bin (a paper bag on a wire frame) a plastic bin would have been much easier to handle!

Excellent for low security shredding
A robust machine that shreds wads of various sized documents with ease and keeps going for ages. I filled the bin twice with continuous shredding and it didn't cut out or get jammed. The bin is easy to pull out and empty. You can get bin liners but found it easier to do without. I hadn't appreciated that security level P-2 means it cuts 0.6mm wide strips, so if you feed in a page sideways then whole lines of text are still readable. The answer is to make sure you feed in vertically, but even then if somebody was determined enough they could put the strips back together!. So it's not for sensitive material but perfect for high volume low security shredding. The wide strips also make a lot less mess than the cross-cut shredder we had before.
