A Good Buy
Simple to use ( even my wife can use it ).I have not used the filter as I already have one and its as easy to top up the reservoir from my filter as to fill from tap.I have MND and was finding it difficult carrying hot/boiling water safely.A good buy.

It looks good Cons It does not dispense boiling water
I have had this item for almost a week now.ProsIt dispenses variable amounts from 150 ml to 1.5 litresThree temperature settings 85 c 95 c 100cIt is convenient, not having to use a kettle for a cup of tea.It looks goodConsIt does not dispense boiling water. After taking several readings with different amounts of water dispensed, the temperature , taken where it exits the machine is 88C not 100C. I took readings dispensing 1.5 litres to allow time for the thermometer to register the correct reading. I then followed it up with readings from the jug. There is still a plastic taste to the water which is not too noticeable with strong tea but it renders delicate herbal teas undrinkable. I am hoping the taste will diminish over time.

My favourite hot water dispenser to date.
The media could not be loaded. I've had several hot water dispensers over the past few years, but this is without doubt my favourite. It's a bit bigger than others I have had, but I think it also looks better too. Build also quality feels very good indeed. The water tank holds either 1.5 litres (if using the replaceable Brita filter) or 3.0 litres if you don't use the filter. I think its really good that the top tank holds enough water to totally fill the bottom tank once the water passes though the filter without you having to keep topping it up.The water tank is removable and has a nice sturdy handle so it is easy to fill under the tap. My wife has fibromyalgia and can't hold anything heavy, so it is great that you can just slide the tank out onto the drip tray and fill it with a jug if needed. You can select temperatures of 85C, 95C or 100C. I don't think the 100C setting is truly boiling, but it is close enough to still make a decent cup of tea.The dispenser will heat between 150ml and the full 1.5 litres of water. This is great for everything from a small cup of tea to a full saucepan of water for cooking! The water will automatically dispense for quantities up to 600ml. For amounts above this you have to press the dispense button once the water is hot. I presume this is for safety reasons. The device will also let you know if you don't have enough water in the reservoir for the amount you want to heat.Heating time is about standard for a hot water dispenser. As an example, 260ml of water (a large mug of tea) takes about 50 seconds. My favourite feature of this device though is that it can do two cups of tea at once! You just double the amount of water on the settings dial and place two cups on the drip tray! Of course heating twice the amount of water takes twice as long, but both cups are done at the same time. You do also need to use two cups that are the same size.Overall - definitely a five star product and my favourite hot water dispenser to date. Please also take a look at the short video clip I made of the device in use. Please note: Although not marked as an Amazon verified purchase, I did buy this item myself from a local electrical store as it was not available on Amazon at the time.

Corrections to reviews.
Felt compelled to write this and correct errors in two other reviews. Firstly, the Brita hopper does not prevent you from filling the water in both sections, you merely need to wait for the first half to filter before topping up again. Secondly, if the water runs out midway through measuring the desired amount to heat the hopper can be refilled and the machine continues with the same cycle correctly. Two things that would be annoying if true. Finally, I previously had a Bosch Filtrino 2, the Morphy Richards is more flexible and therefore not as straightforward to use. My view is that this is definitely a better machine but it depends upon your requirements.

It can't replace a kettle
After using the Morphy Richards Redefine water dispenser at home for 1 week:Pro’s• Easy to calibrate• Easy to set up, intuitive• Variable volume• Variable temperature• Nice interface, feels and looks high end. Nice graphics display. Nice sound effects.• Positive “click” of the water tank locking into place.• Low noise.• Can do 2 cups at a time.Con’s:• First thing to throw out was the hopper with the water filter. Absolute deal breaker having a water tank that can only ever be used to half its capacity and therefore needs refilling all the time. Just too annoying. So I didn’t use the water filtration function of the Morphy Richards Redefine water dispenser at all. Instead I used my Aqua Optima filter jug to fill the water tank all the way to the top. That would easily last a whole day without running out of water. So to refill the appliance once every day seemed acceptable.• Also, filling the water tank with the hopper in place requires good balancing to not spill any water on the way from the tap to the appliance. An issue that was also fixed by filling from a water jug.• Terrible plastic taste on first couple of days. Undrinkable! Until I soaked the water tank in boiling water, using dish washing liquid, several times.• Water dispense is not very smooth. Lots of splattering and splashing.• The dispensed volumes appeared to be less than what was selected. Although, I never measured it.Conclusion:In summary I really liked the look and the functionality of the machine. However, I would not spend more than £70 for it as it cannot replace a kettle. At least not in my household. A kettle has the very unique advantage that you can take the water to the mountain. With a water dispenser you have to bring the mountain to the water. It is perfectly fine (and possibly superior) for making hot drinks. Unfortunately that is not the sole purpose of what boiling water is required for. Yes, 99% of the time you would make hot drinks with it. But there is that 1% where the hot water dispenser just wouldn’t suffice and therefore a kettle would still have to be in the household. So if I still have to have a kettle then I would not be willing to spend a large amount of money for an additional appliance.Things where I had to use my kettle instead of the Redefine water dispenser:- Making hot water bottles- Filling a bucket for cleaning (mopping floor)- Pouring hot water into the detergent drawer of the washing machine (this is possibly extremely “nerdy” of me but I actually do that to help dissolve the detergent quickly every time I start a washing cycle – hey, I’m German, I can’t help it)Verdict: If money is no object, go ahead and buy the Morphy Richards Redifine hot water dispenser. If you want equal functionality cheaper, get yourself a Breville HotCup or a Morphy Richards Meno.
