Excellent audio, good video, super value
Audio quality is excellent. Superb.Video is much improved over previous models. Many more lighting modes to choose from.Video "zoom" is still kinda disappointing, but that's to be expected. Clarity with wide is very good, but the more zoomed-in you get, the more grainy it gets. That's digital zoom for ya.Accessories are good. Lens hood is necessary, cap is useful, case is adequate.Price is unbeatable. Value for cost is really very good.

Audio seems great. Video seems ok
Just received this tonight. Did a quick demo of my family in the living room. I used the highest resolution and auto settings.Audio seems great.Video seems ok, but the lighting in my home is pretty dim.I read a review stating that the Zoom Q2n would not work with a Mac. It appears that you must select it to function as a card reader to load recorded videos from the camera to the Mac. Once I figured this out, it went smooth and easy.I don’t have any idea what to do with it yet, but I think it will be fun to play with.

Not usable with iPad Mini 2!
Do not buy this product if you intend to use it with a iOS device. It is not usable for iPad mini 2. I bought the lightning connector kit and did everything as directed, dozens of times. Sometimes I was able to get short video clips downloaded to my iPad. But most of the time, when I really needed it, the SD card was erased when I connected the cables showing no file to upload to my iPad. I spent hours working with this piece of crap. I’m done!

Good hardware, crappy drivers that make it unusable.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this device specifically for the webcam feature as it promised to have a much nicer picture quality. When I first got the device, I needed to update the firmware to 1.11, which is, and has been the latest since what appears to be after the first creators update for Windows 10 in 2017. Since then, there have been multiple updates to windows, and the result - my webcam no longer works as a webcam at all. After contacting support back when I purchased this, there appears to be no control over driver updates / etc, and thus -- still no update as of the time writing this.I did not intend on purchasing just a microphone, and if I did, I would certainly NOT buy one with an LCD screen that overheats with no sleep mode.So here is the low-down on this device :PROS===============- Camera quality is decent when working as webcam- Camera quality is decent when working without a USB cable plugged into the PC- Microphone is hyper-sensitive- Compact- HDMI output works as intended.CONS=============- In "mic" mode when plugged in using USB, device won't start if Audio settings on camera were last set "too high".- In "webcam" mode when plugged in using USB, device doesn't start at all if you have other devices (eg, capture cards) . If you don't have other devices installed, you can fidget with it and eventually it may start after a fresh boot if opening the "Camera" windows 10 app prior. Sometimes, you can open whatever app you want to use it in after (discord / skype), and select the Q2n for video, then close the "Camera" app and have it still remain on and working. Most of the time, closing the "Camera" app will cause the "Goodbye. See you!" message to appear on the Q2n which is it's generic way of saying it is shutting off for no good reason.- On first initialization of the "mic" mode, your audio (speakers) are redirected and played through the microphone on the Q2n. You can fix this by switching your default audio out in windows BACK to whatever normal output you were using. The Q2n is not a speaker, so this quirk shows just how badly written the driver is for this.- There is no power/screen saver for the LCD. When the device is on, the LCD is on full bright 100% of the time with absolutely no way to have it go dark or dimmer.- There are no archived versions of the driver / firmware.- The driver is inan exe inside the zip which claims to be InstallShield yet none of the InstallShield switches work with it. The current version is about 3MB, but the driver installed is only about 200kb.- Inside the driver inf, there is no reference to using the device as a Camera anywhere. Only Audio device pointers.- When the webcam does work, it shows up as another audio device. (so 2 zoom Q2n devices under audio in device manager).- Firmware update is done via copying it to the SD card, and restarting the device. There is no update method over USB.- If batteries are installed, they get drained when running over USB.- Mount style is for camera tripod. The hole for the screw doesn't support standard microphone stand screws. It will mount on a camera tripod perfectly. If you plan to mount on a microphone stand or arm, you will need a stand where you can mount an adapter to convert the screw to a camera mount.- The mic adapter that comes with the extras, doesn't fit standard microphone stands with the brace very snug, so adjusting position is limited and any slight movement of the stand/arm causes it to shift around/wobble which add to background noise the microphone pics up.- The hairy filter, obscures the camera and LCD screen. Additionally it has the comical effect of making the Q2n look like a cross between a Minion and a Treasure Troll.Summary. The major problems could in theory be resolved by updating the firmware and definitely the drivers need serious updating. The camera when in webcam should be located under Cameras in device manager, and it should work. Additionally, there should be better diagnostics provided on the device instead of "Goodbye. See you!" message. The LCD control could be applied in a firmware update to allow the user to apply some screen sleep control (like, never, 10s, 60s, etc). The product is made in Japan, so I expected better quality from the software for this device. The hardware is fantastic, but the software makes the device all but unusable as either a mic on the computer, or as a stand-alone camera/mic.

the camera is great. The viewing angle for the camera is very ...
My only complaint is that the recordings of live music overemphasize the bass frequencies. Otherwise, the camera is great. The viewing angle for the camera is very wide, a plus for me.
