Q: Tell me it floats? Because I will definitely drop it.

That is a great question. They do not float. Over the years, I have had three customers that have dropped and lost theirs. You may certainly drill a hole in the top of the baffle and attach a rubber float, like the ones for boat keys.

Q: Will the unit catch the overflow that comes out of the vent when the dock overfills?

My invention, the Clean Way Fuel Fill captures all of the burp or splash from the fuel receiver. This tool does not address the thru-hull vent overflow.

Q: does this work will filler on the side of the hull?

Sorry to answer that this device works on a horizontal surface and it can be used on surfaces with deck fills up to 45 degrees. A true vertical side fill is in the works and covered under the same patents, due out, hopefully early next year.

Q: My boat has the Attwood self venting deck fill. Will this product end up blocking that vent making the burp worse?

Actually, and hopefully on some Attwood vented fills, the finned bottom WILL block the vent and fueling will be better, capturing the burp and sending it back into the tank. My understanding of the new regulations on the vented fills and their designed use is to keep fuel from burping after the fill. My device will do it for you..Actually, if I am wrong and it doesn't work as advertised, I will refund the order as long as it is returned and you mention this post.
