The same magic has always been there so the song remains the same!
I can still remember getting my first Led Zeppelin cassette when I was in my early teens. Strangely enough it was In Through The Outdoor. It had a lot of melodies that were different from the songs that me and my mates were into in those good old days in the eighties, but I still loved it and I wanted to listen to more Zeppelin stuff.Much later when I had managed to collect all of their albums, I started to be interested in Robert Plant's solo career. Here the first album was Pictures At Eleven. Quite soon I got all of his excellent CDs like Manic Nirvana, The Principle Of Moments, Now And Zen, Shaken'N Stirred, Fate Of Nations and his EP with The Honeydrippers. These albums were sometimes a bit similar to Led Zeppelin, but most of the time they were very different. However, the same cosmic energy, the rock'n roll of the sixties and the influences of folk music were always there, so in one word Robert's solo albums had the same magic as the Led Zeppelin albums.I think in 2002 when his Dreamland came out, the influences of folk and world music became even more dramatic. His Mighty Rearranger, his album with Band Of Joy, or his latest albums Lullaby And Ceaseless Roar and Carry Fire reflect this musical direction. Even his reunion with Jimmy and their ambition to put old Zeppelin songs in a new frame or Walking Into Clarksdale were heavily into Robert's folk influenced modern rock music. This new DVD was shot in 2016 and some of his musicians are the same as on Dreamland. John Bagott on keyboards, the multi-instrumentalist Justin Adams on all kinds of string instruments have been in his band since then. The excellent guitarist Skin Tyson and Billy Fuller on bass joined the band later but they were the members of The Strange Sensation (nowadays The Sensational Space Shifters) even on Robert'sSound Stage DVD released in 2006. Now they have Dave Smith on drums and Juldeh Camara on different ancient string instruments. As on the DVD released in the Stage Sound series they play some re-workings of Led Zeppelin classics like Black Dog or Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You, with some songs from their latest albums like Turn It Up, Poor Howard, Rainbow and The Enchanter. As always the magic is there and if you have ever listened to and liked any of these songs, you will enjoy all of them on this really special DVD and believe me you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

One hour highlights from 2016
The unique and lovely vocals of Robert Plant are to be admired as he continues his journey incorporating some familiar and somer more diverse musical styles, but always a pleasure to listen to. The Bonus material incorporated in this issue is dubious, thought provoking, but not necessarily relevent to him or was it?

noisy
Very noisy erratic "music "not melodious enough for me, loud drumming so much so Robert cant be heard very well , general sound quality is not good, come back Big Log etc..destined for the charity bag.

Great set - but too short!
Robert Plant, unlike Page, still loves making music and pushing musical boundaries. I have all Plant's solo DVD's but I would say this is his best yet. A mix of his solo work and some great reworkings of a few Zep classics. The band are superb - rhythmically tight but with great improvisational skill. The sound and feel on this disc is authentic blues/roots music but played with verve and dynamism. I particularly enjoyed the acoustic guitar work on Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. The set finishes with Goin' To California, a song I've always thought of as being just ok, but with Plants emotive vocals and great support from the band this song really comes alive and finishes the disc off in great style. I've knocked off one star because of the short length of the concert, which is less than an hour - why?! Based on the superb tracks on the disc I can only assume that the rest of the gig must have been at least good so a few more tracks really should have been included.

velvet tones of robert plant
ive always loved Robert velvet tones but I must say I did enjoy listening to the live dvd, but I feel he has slightly changed id say more blue grass which im not really sure if it the right move ,but saying that I did like it... and most probably listen to it again , but Robert has a great range to his voice which I feel he not using it as much nowadays , but he stil sends chills down your spine

Still doin' it, wonderful.
Robert Plant gets better with age for me, musical genres are out of the window now. If you are old Led Zeppelin fan you may struggle with this though. If you're open minded and not resistant to change you could be in for a treat.
