Feel your media as well as hearing it! WOW
No videos, no words can do this sub justice, Wow this thing kicks like a mule. Going from no previous subwoofers to this, combined with a pair of JBL LSR305's and magic happens, Movies and Music sound amazing, films like John Wick and Lord of the Rings make your walls breathe. Simple setup and switch down to 80-70hz and you're ready. Games such Doom 2016 feel like something else, gun shots hit with a punch! being a student, in student sized accommodation you only need one of these to blow you away. Genuinely impressive on how much of an I Max experience this gives for the cost!Overall Very Happy and satisfied with the purchase!Things to note however:1. Thing is big! however I have placed it on my desk with an Auralex Sub Isolator foam pad to manage the vibrations which does a good job!2. My room is quite small, just a little larger than a standard size bedroom, I imagine an SB-2000 or above will be required for anything larger 3000 cubic meters3. Right now I'm only using one, I highly recommend if you don't have low frequency speakers getting a dual setup!I'll update this when the second one arrives!

Fabulous sub! You won't regret it
There are many rave reviews for this sub online and I can see why. Solid construction with a quality feel (and very protective packaging). The sound is simply amazing. I upgraded from a 10+ year cheap-ish compact ported sub. This is night and day. Tight, precise sound without the boomy effect. Plays great on music bringing out a rich bass sound and a precise drum beat - very responsive. Brought out sounds I hadn't previously heard on tracks. On films, it brings out both a richness to the score and packing plenty of punch when it comes to action scenes etc.For its size, it's simply brilliant. If you have a 5.1/surround sound system and you're looking for a great sub, you won't be disappointed.

Amazon - pretending to be a Hi-FI Shop
A subwoofer is hardly a stand-alone item. There's nothing here to tell me which other devices this unit would be compatible with. So, on what basis am I going to commit to spending £519 when there is no useful information of any kind supplied here?

Amazing subwoofer for the price.
Its almost too hard to explain my experience with the SVS SB-1000. It gives the perfect low end as far as you position it perfectly in your listening space. I’ve had it for a couple of months and it’s still shaking up my room which is just amazing. If anyone sees this, I would advise you try it out before shelling out for a more expensive subwoofer, because it’s well worth its price.

A little internet research shows that this subwoofer consistently gets good reviews at its price point
The SVS SB-1000 completes the sound in my 5.1.2 AV system - especially in lower end frequency response. It provides a significant amount of atmosphere and depth to soundtracks, particularly when watching movies. A little internet research shows that this subwoofer consistently gets good reviews at its price point, and from my experience, for good reason.

WOW!!! WOW!!!!
This sub arrived and after unboxing, I regretted how stupid my decision was to spend £520 on something looking so small even though it felt well made. I've just returned a faulty giant 12inch klipsch subwoofer which arrived dead and my refund is was being delayed. The kilpsch enormous size meant placement was a problem so I took another plunge for this based on online reviews which is why I've written mine. My judgement that underestimated this sub was purely based on its size plus my av receiver was still in the post.I've stared and thought of returning it back to seller or buying a second one as an add-on. This is my first mini home theatre subwoofer to help me cope in another UK covid lockdown.Av receiver finally arrived and set up, and then booom!!! boooom!! My naivety had dawned on me. This thing actually spews out tonnes of heavy, tight, clean and punching bass!! Look, I'm every now and then having to take paracetamol because this gives me headaches! My flat is a studio and room is small with neighbours to two sides of my wall plus underneath.I've got a single 12inch ported subwoofer in my car but though they're nearly the same size, this little thing is powerful!! I'm still trying to figure out how did they do it comparing its size, location and sound efficacy? At least the boot of a car is very confined in terms of space so subwoofer would perform great in such an environment unlike at home where windows are wide opened and full of appliances alongside other junks.Music is amazing and movie is fantastic. I've sat it on a very soft memory gel foam to reduce vibration, and yes it worked yet to be honest, the sound is so impactful so the difference is barely noticeable. If you live in an average uk home known for tightness and you're not an outrageousaudiophile then this is good for your mini home theatre. It's powerful enough for bigger homes I'm sure.UPDATE:I took sub to celebrate girlfriend birthday together with few friends. This subwoofer is outrageously powerful! This was my first time to raise volume for music and film. The wall and everything vibrated. My kid screamed "Oh dad the bass!!!" Guests started begging to lower it a bit when sub wasn't on full blast. The thing goes down to exceptionally lower rumbling bass.
