Eggsactly what I wanted!
When I was a kid we had an aluminum single-egg poacher which I used several times a week. Flash forward 30 years and I'm looking for an egg poacher for my kids to safely use. I first got some of those silicone poachers at Christmas but I had the same problems as everyone else - poor heat transference resulting in unsatisfactory eggs - and my kids almost got steam burns using them. I went searching on Amazon, saw that this poacher was liked the most and I bought it. Wow, this is one of the highest quality items I've ever received that was made in China. The pan and lid are heavy and stay where you put them and the poaching insert has a good Teflon coating. The handle is firmly riveted to the side of the pan and it's long enough that you don't burn your hand over the stove while using it. The handle on the poaching insert is small but since it's aluminum it says pretty cool to the touch - with my Kevlar hands I don't need a pot holder - but the handle on the lid can get pretty hot so use a pot holder for that one. The poacher insert has vents around the edge so it doesn't rattle while the steam escapes and the lid is heavy enough to keep the poacher down in case someone fills the pan too full and floats the insert. My kids are loving using it almost daily, so much so that I just leave it on the stove all the time. If you're only making two eggs, this is so much easier to use than buying and storing a 4-egg insert. It works best if you keep the heat on high until the water is boiling and then turn it down to 4 before you put the egg in. On my stove, 3.5 min makes a loose egg; 4 min makes a cooked but runny egg; and 4.5 min makes a soft but non-runny egg. We are so glad

Great little pan!
We wanted a single egg poacher rather than one designed for multiple eggs and this one fills the bill! This pan is heavy, so it doesn’t tip on the burner. Vents around the insert help to cook the egg all around. Eggs come out perfectly done. We are very happy with this purchase! Worth the money.

Measure Before You Buy
Measure your cooking surface before you buy. This is a well made, easy to use, single egg poacher if you have the right cooking surface. We looked at the material and thought great, this will work with our induction cooktop at home. Nope. Our cooktop has a sensor that verifies the pot is the right size for the surface you are putting it on and won't start if its not. No big deal, we'll just use it in the RV where we use gas. Nope. The opening in the middle of the grate is too big and you have carefully set the pot just right across four prongs or it will tilt to one side. We felt like the incompetent boobs they use in the infomercials trying to carefully align the pot on the cooking surface. So, we bought the two egg poacher from the same company and gifted ours to a friend with a regular electric oven.

Works well but some comments....
The egg "cup" is not stick proof; maybe needs a break in period? I have coated with just a dab of butter. Considering the price ($23), I was expecting an item more precisely made. Both the cup and lid have a little slop in them and feel cheap. The pot itself is well made, sits perfectly flat on my smooth top burners, and gets to a boil very quickly. I started to give this 3 stars but just changed to 4 because this does great poached eggs. Update: after using for weeks, I'd give another half star if I could. I love this thing.

NOT An Egg Poacher
This pan appears to be of good quality and it certainly does the job, BUT IT DOES NOT MAKE POACHED EGGS. Poached eggs, by definition, is a method of cooking where the eggs are completely submerged in water. What this pans makes are steamed eggs; the eggs never touch the water but are cooked by the heat of the steam produced in the pan. While this creates a consistent product and a nicely cooked egg, it is not poached. Nor does it taste like a poached egg. Submerging an egg in simmering water imparts a specific, tell-tale flavor to an egg, which is what makes poached eggs unique (and delicious). This pan creates a nicely cooked but very bland tasting egg, which is very lacking in flavor. It is about the most boring egg you will ever eat. I will keep the pan and use it on occasion, but when I want the delicious flavor of poached eggs I will continue using the traditional method of submerging eggs in simmering water.

Sturdy and poaches well
After decades using an inexpensive tin single egg poacher, the Endurance 18/8 is a step up. It is sturdy and a nice weight. The insert cleans easily and adding a dollop of margarine to it prior to the egg helps the cooked egg release better.

This is one of my best purchases ever
This is one of my best purchases ever. The stainless pan is nice and heavy and every poached egg comes out perfectly cooked. Another thing I like is that a jumbo egg works great. Previously, in my old poacher, a jumbo egg would overflow and make a mess. The only (very minor) negative is that while the insert is nonstick, It isn't perfectly nonstick. The first egg I did stuck just a little. I had always used a small bit of butter in the insert of my old poacher and do with this one as well. Eggs slide right out. I cook the egg 4 and a half minutes, others might want to make it 5 minutes depending on exactly the amount of doneness you want on the white.

Cheap grade of metal, badly fitting top, too hot to touch
Beware: the online photo makes the thing look like the steel used in high-end cookery. In fact, it's cheap, thin-grade metal. The little rivets came loose on first use. The handle and lid are too hot to touch before the water is even hot. It's worth maybe $5, not $24. Came in a beat-up box that obviously had been used, damaged, and then taped shut. Would never trust this vendor again.

Excellent Design and Sturdy Construction.
We are so pleased with this product. I have tried ALL of the other "egg poacher" cookware and none of them measure up to the quality, ease of cleaning and perfect meal creations as this single serve egg poacher. I originally thought it was a bit pricey but I have discovered that it is worth every cent spent. The sturdy design and non-stick egg cup are perfect. I have even used this product for cooking things other than poached eggs. It is perfect for our needs.

Good poacher
Cooks eggs fast and well. I had to make a handle (dowel) for the inner part as it gets to hot to handle but otherwise a good poacher.

Single egg poacher
The only thing I found it that the handle rivets leak but not a big problem. Cooks great eggs.

Great little poacher
I love this single egg poacher. My mom and dad had one, but it was ancient and the egg kept sticking to the poacher cup. I thought this was a little bit too much money to pay for a single poacher, but I am glad I purchased it as it seems to be well worth the money. The panhandle stays cool, but the handle on the egg cup does get very hot. I just use a pot holder to remove it after I take the sauce pan off the stove. I’ll ask Alexa to time four minutes and I have a perfect poached egg. I have been using it for about a week now and I have absolutely no complaints. The egg cup washes up beautifully and to me. It is a very sturdy item. I wholeheartedly recommend this poacher.
