I am a preschool teacher and this is exactly what I was looking for- fun songs and rhymes for circle time! Can’t wait to sing these with my kids ☺️

Okay book of children's songs
Standard notation for the melody. No tablature notation. Most are in key of C, G, D, or F. There are a few in key of A. Chord diagrams at top of page. Chord names noted above staff. I cut the binding off and put a comb binding on to allow pages to remain open. Sure wish music publishers would spiral bind books.

Great resources for quick song games for the teacher to lead
Of course, there are some song that I will not use...However, there are still lot's of songs that I can lead students with. As a GE music teacher it is great to have a selection of songs to pull from in one place that is a hard copy. It has the lyrics, tablature for ukulele, the chords, and chord charts for those chords, and the written melody. It is definitely worth $10

Not perfect, but pretty good for some things.
I've been home on paternity leave with my little daughter these past few months, and I bought this book so I could play some songs for her and bond. It definitely works in that regard, and I am glad to have the book. However, I have some issues with it. First, the songs are not in alphabetical order, but instead are seemingly randomly organized. You have to look up the song you want in the table of contents ever time, which is not easy when you are trying to keep the attention of a squirmy toddler. How hard would it be to to have put them in alphabetical order? Second, many of the "songs" are actually just nursery rhymes. There's a "melody" for them, and chords, but they are only two lines long so what's the point of adding uke? It's nice to have these to read to her, but they are not songs. It wouldn't bother me that much, except that quite a few common children's songs have been left out entirely. "Shoo fly" comes to mind right now, but there a few other glaring omissions. Fewer nursery rhymes and more actual songs would be a lot better for a Uke book. Finally, some of the arrangements are off. I think it's a fine line between simplifying an arrangement and making it unrecognizable. Unfortunately, I think that line is crossed too many times in this book. So, I goes to YouTube to actually learn the song, and I use this books to remind myself of the lyrics. At least I can mark up the tabs with the proper chords...Now, it's definitely not all bad. The handy chord charts and strumming/picking patterns in the back are nice, and it's great to have the melodies tabbed out and the chord changes with the lyrics. There's still a lot of good stuff here, but just could be so much better.

Great intro to uke for kids
This is the perfect book for teaching kids to play uke. (Although it could also be used by a more advanced uke player who wanted to accompany kids' sing-alongs and either play chords or the melody). I should say that I don't think the intention of this book is pedagogical, but it works really well for me used as such. I think the songs would appeal most to kids under the age of 10. There's a wide selection of kids' songs, folk songs, and Christmas carols. I love the fact that each song has the melody written in standard notation and in uke tab (soprano tuning). You could use the book to teach both notation and tab reading skills. Each song also has chords and chord charts (though as another reviewer noted, the charts are rotated 90 degrees). There are also a variety of strumming and picking patterns in an appendix at the back of the book. Not every song is for a complete beginner. There are songs with bar chords and complex rhythms in the melodies. This is a book that a beginner could start with and grow into.

So many songs, wish it was spiral bound though
This book has a TON of songs, some of which I’ve definitely never heard of. I appreciate the tab and the chord guides on each page. One thing that would be better is if the binding was spiral instead because it’s hard to hold the pages down sometimes.

Wonderful selection of Children's Songs! This is for the Guitar (not piano)
Great book for guitar, but I thought I was getting it for the piano...that's my fault! The songs are super. I ordered this after a student came in with one. I thought the selections of songs was great and gave it to a guitar teacher. I'll find one for the piano and order it for me!

For younger children
If you like the old fashioned nursery songs then this is quite good. However, I think that children over the age of six would find it ‘beneath’ them. My eight year old granddaughter prefers the Disney hits book which includes songs from films such as Frozen, the Lion King etc.

The big book of children's songs for ukulele
This book had nice chord diagrams and is easy to follow. I used it with my Sunday school group when learning ukulele. Author has written another book called "ukulele song book" and there is quite a lot of duplication of material.
