Dynamode PCI-3PFW - FireWire adapter - 3 ports

I purchased this IEEE1394 card to transfer some old DV tapes onto my PC and it works perfectly but, please be aware of the following:1. The product description says 3 ports but the product picture appears to show 4 x 6 wire connectors but the one I was sent has 3 x 6 wire and 1 x 4 wire connectors as shown in the attached photo. There are 2 x 6 wire and 1 x 4 wire connectors presented externally and 1 x 6 connector available internally.2. There is a driver and support CD but it only has details for Windows installations, not Linux. A version U-Lead Video Studio is included on the CD.I use Linux Mint 19.1 currently and it did recognise the board straight away but I had a few problems initially getting the capture software (Kino) to see the IEEE1394 ports. A little research revealed that it is surprisingly easy to get it set up so no problems there.Once installed, it worked perfectly and I had no problems transferring my DV recordings. I think this board is good value for money and I cannot fault its performance.

I had some spare, old, firewire HDDs from work and got this PC card to make them easily compatible with my newer firewire free motherboard.It was a bit difficult getting it to fit in next to my GPU and USB3 cards, but that's not the fault of the item, just make sure you have room and available PCI slot for this to slot into.It worked fine after a quick driver update.

I didn't use this device but passed it on to another person and so have no comment regarding it's use but it looked fine.

Worked straight away on Windows 8.1 64 and Windows 10 64, os installed the drivers, no messing about. Recommended.

I just worked. Windows 10 recognized the device and the fire wire camcorder immediately. I didn't have to install any drivers.

The firewire card was easy to install and worked fine on my pc running windows 10. Highly recommended.

Very good product as advertised.
