SW-30435-10 Drift Light (10 Pack)

I love this light bulb. I have had problems falling asleep for years. In the past I would read until I was sleepy and then turn the light off. But when I would reach to turn the light off it was enough to wake me up and when I couldn't fall asleep I would turn the light on and start over. This would happen several times a night. Recently I discovered that if I don't turn the light off I can fall asleep. However it is not a healthy idea to sleep with the light on because apparently melatonin is produced during darkness and necessary for normal sleep patterns. So this drift light bulb is the perfect answer. It really works nicely for my situation. I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from difficulties falling asleep. Also for parents who are looking for a way to soothe fearful children gently to sleep, it has a night light mode and doesn't shut off completely. Thank you to the Saffron idea people and developers of this product. PS... This would be a great baby gift. I plan to order more for my grandchildren for bedtime reading. ZZZZzzzzzzz....pleasant dreams.

I have tried this bulb in several of my "household" lamps without success. There is no rhyme or reason to when this bulb decides to work. After three clicks, four, five,... If it does turn on there is no dimming at all before it turns off (at the 30-minute mark). Most of the time, however, I wake up with the light still on. I wouldn't consider this a smart buy and wouldn't purchase another. I am most likely going to try and return - hopefully without hassle.

We purchased this product because our 5 year old twins wanted to look at books for awhile at bedtime. We wanted something with a timer that was easy to use. Most of what we found were battery powered book lights and we felt that those would not work for us. This light has been great! The slow dimming helps get the twins off to sleep while giving them adequate light to see their books, they're typically fast asleep by the end of the 37 minute cycle. The only thing I had to do for this light was change the switch on the lamp from a 3-way to a simple on/off switch about $3 at the hardware store. The switch change was necessary because you need to be able to turn the light on, then off, then on again to activate the dimmer/timer. The price of this was a little hard to swallow, and that is why I only gave it 4 stars.FYI, this has made bedtime VERY EASY in our house!

If you define working as the light appears when you turn the switch, this still works. But it flickers, goes on and off, goes from steady light to timed light. For the price, not reliable. A real disappointment. Customer service does not exist.

We use this in nightlight mode for my 10 yo daughter who is afraid of the dark. She says she feels more secure with this light on, but I can't see any difference in her sleep patterns or quality versus a standard night light. I wish that the light went a little dimmer.For me, the value is just not there based on the high price compared to personal benefits--there are cheaper alternatives that are just as good. I won't buy another one when this one burns out. I'll just buy an additional wall-plug night light if my daughter still demands more light at that time. I'm hoping that her aversion of the dark will have passed by that time.....Update: July 2016--The bulb is still working. My daughter uses it every night.

I'm not one to usually write reviews. But I just LOVE this product. My wife and I had been having trouble agreeing on when to turn our light out (after our 12 y.o. goes to sleep, we both need time to unwind), and would end up not getting enough sleep, because either one or the other would stay up too late, and it's hard to sleep with the light on. I read about this product on a magazine article that was talking lightening and the important of sleep. The price seemed a little high, but so did the benefit. So I bought it. We've only had it for about ten days now, but we both love it! Once our son goes to sleep, we flicker the light switch 5 times, and get 37 min of progressing deeming until the light turns off on its own. I have no idea how then got to the seemingly arbitrary 37 min, but I have to say, it's PERFECT! Since I got this lightbulb, I've been sleeping great (not a small feat for me), and waking up more rested. Kudos to the bulb designers and thank you for a great product that's making my life better every day (and night).

I've been using it every night for about 3 weeks and it works just like It said it would. It did take me a few minutes of fiddling with it to figure out the settings (it has 3. It can be used as a regular lamp, dim to a "twilight" which is like a nightlight, or fade to all the way off) but the instructions are pretty clear on how to use all the settings so just read them. I use it mostly on the setting that dims all the way off. I have had problems falling asleep so I thought I'd give it a try and it really helps. It would usually take me an hour+ to fall asleep but I've noticed that since I've had the drift light I've been falling asleep before the light drifts to all the way off. Would recommend it for anyone who has difficulty falling asleep or people with children who need a night light, or people who tend to fall asleep with the light on.

We bought this light for my toddler's room just a couple weeks ago, I thought the concept was great. However, last night, when setting it on the dimmer selection (2 clicks) it would cycld through in less than two minutes, not even enough time for one story. I reset the bulb, turning it off and leaving it off for a several seconds. Tried this three times before we have up. So disappointed.
