I needed one of these because I was trying my hand at making my own patch cords for my home network. This was something I'd never done before so definitely wanted to make sure everything was good before I finished my entire network to find nothing worked. This took worked perfectly, and I was able to correct any flaws in my work before firing up my network.

I got this because hey 20 buck what tis ther to lose. I needed to trace some wires and verify network wiring.I've used this way more than what I paid for it. It is simple and no extras but gets the job done.

I had a tester stolen from me and needed a replacement so I bought this. It requires two 9-volt batteries which caught me off guard. I was used to double-As from previous testers I had. I recommend this if you are just pulsing a tone through the line to find a connection. The other things that it can do, I didn't have much luck with understanding how to confidently read what it was telling me.

Have had it for 9 Or 10 months now and ir still works perfect. Only thing I notice is if it starts acting up check the batteries add their life is relatively short. And when it starts to die it may or may not read.

Needed to identify the location of a bundle of wires, some of which I knew were not functioning. This allowed me to locate working ethernet cable and the location easily.

Tool was what I was looking for and the price was fair. Only problem is it only worked right one time. All I was doing was checking continuity on an ethernet cable trying to diag a network issue. First cable checked was fine, but when checking the second cable, only the LED for wire five would light. It would not test other wires. I tried multiple cables and it did the same thing. I even tried brand new cables. So, bottom line is save your money as this is junk.

I purchased this to determine which cables in the basement correspond to which wall plates. It worked perfectly and I was also able to test a cable after replacing a connector. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend or purchase it again for myself.

Worked ok for a bit, but stopped working all together after a few months. Was my back unit, so didn’t get used much. Just decided to stop working about 3 months in.
