This thing is comfy for a reason, it is thick and sturdy! It comes in a really large carry bag and it needs every inch of it. It will roll up and has straps with clips to keep it rolled up. I camp a lot and this is so much better than sleeping on the ground. I sometimes put it on top of my cot, and it is like a real bed. It is not compact enough to hike with, or even for car-camping. But if SUV camping or need an extra sleeping space at the cabin, you gotta get one of these. On most camp mattresses I've tried, I have to use a sheet or blanket on top of the mattress to keep me from sticking to it, but the velour fabric is cool and breathable. It fits great in a tent! I'm not sure what the velcro patches are for at the corners, maybe to hold two together side by side. I highly recommend, if you want a good night's sleep without a bed!

I actually got two of these because 3" is not adequate thickness if used on a hard surface. I purchased this "Kids" size as I use it in the back seat of my RAM pickup. With the seats folded up, the cargo platform folds down providing a nice flat base. It fits perfectly in its length and width. Using two of them is very comfortable. I like the carry bag it comes with to keep it clean for easy storage when not being used.

This memory foam sleeping pad is quite thick and soft. When you first get it, it’s vacuum packed, so you have to open it and let it expand as well as put the cover on. The cover is a soft fleece material on the top and has non-slip grippy dots on the bottom. It is convenient that the cover zips on and off so that you can wash it when needed. The grippy dots help keep you on your cot or from sliding around while you sleep. The pad comes with a large carrying case with a zip top and woven straps for carrying it on your back. The straps are rather thin and are only good for carrying it short distances like from your car to a campsite. The pad comes with a woven strap to wrap around it when you roll it up to help hold it in place so that it stays rolled up when you're putting it in its bag. The bag has more than enough room to put the pad in it. This pad is very comfortable to sleep on and connects easily to others similar pads through Velcro squares on each of the corners. Some of the squares of Velcro are loops and some are hooks so that you can connect it to adjacent pads and make a larger bed. We connected two of these on our last camping trip and made it a nice size double bed. Is much better to sleep on this than the ground. This is also great to have on hand for guests if you don't have an extra bed.
