Renegade: A Novel (Elite Ops Series Book 5)

Very enjoyable read
I'm not sure why this book is getting such negative feedback. I absolutely loved it just as much as the others in this series. The characters were great. The plot was great. The sex was great. Everything you come to expect in a book written by Lora Leigh was there. It was an easy, very enjoyable read.

Steamy murder mystery
Sexy. Hot. Intriguing. Mysterious. Nik is an extremely hot dominate special ops guy hired to find the killer. She's a virgin dress designer who witnessed a murder. Read this book in 2 days. I didn't want to put it down.... but you know, life and a job and all that. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Ignore all the bad reviews, this is a good book!
Renegade....what can I say another good novel from Lora Leigh. Lora is one of my ALL time favorite authors but I was sceptical in purchasing this book, since I found more than a few books in this series to be rather disappointing. When Renegade was released my plan was to get it from the library. Since I paid for many of the previous books, I did not want to waste anymore money. However, this book surprised me. Having a kindle on PC really helps me select the good books from the bad. I do not always get it right but kindle gives me the ability to sample read a book before buying it. Once I read the first chapter I knew I had to buy it. In her usual style Lora Leigh did not disappoint in her discription of her tormented alpha male. There is absolutely nothing more better than a hot overprotective tormented alpha male that is good-looking to boot! I found the action to be good, the mystery was something I could not solve until the end and the sex scenes mind blowing. I do not understand why so many people think the Mykayla was weak. It takes a woman with a pure heart and pure soul to love a wounded soul like Nik. Ms. Leigh please ignore some of these bad reviews because we all know what "LOVE" can do! I loved the book!

Renegade by Lora Leigh
This book kept me awake late into the night because I couldn't put it down. There was mystery, danger, and a whole lot of hot and steamy going on. What's not to love? Nik is the ultimate Alpha Male - protective, jealous, tender, and too stupid to know what's good for him. Mikala is just sweet and loving, but also stands up for herself and speaks her mind - which I love.I am sure this is one that I will be reading again and again for years to come.Lora Leigh cannot write books fast enough for me!

Da!
Bridal shop owner and seamstress, Mikayla Martin saw something she should have, witnessing a murder and providing it is a problem when no one believes you and your an open target for the gunman! Elite Ops member Nikolai Steele( code name Renegade) is asked to repay a favor, the friend proclaims innocent even with Mikayla pointing the finger. When Nikolai tries to set her straight he is the one on notice as in..head over hearts for the beautiful woman and protecting his lady is the main objective along with finding the killer.. This is one hot read Renegade is 5 stars!

great
This book held some intrigue. I knew there were only two ways that one person could be in the same place at the same time and I sort of knew who was behind the entire incident. It's a good read.

Love the Elite Ops series!
Lora Leigh's Elite Ops series is always a hit. Twists and turns, deep feelings, wonderful characters, and hot romance! Her writing flows along and you feel like it's a movie. Nickolai and Mikayla are wonderful. You can't go wrong. Enjoy !

So much I liked... but I think I'd have LOVED it 100 pp shorter
It is true that the overall story is a variation around the standard Elite Ops theme, but there were some unique elements that caught my interest. Most interesting was the fact that the man that Mikayla was accusing of murder remained a staunch fan and supporter of hers. I really liked Mikayla, and I understand why Nik was so quickly and totally captivated by her. Some SPOILERS ahead. I even liked that he thought of her as his little fairy. Sweet. Yet, that was just one of the things that became overly repetitive. OK, we get it. She's tiny... she's lovely. She has a heart-stealing innocence... and he's drawn to it inexorably. But this is emblematic of the main issue I have with the book - the level of repetition and redundancies. How many times did we read about Nik and his poor damaged soul - which he didn't even think there was much left of - simultaneously warmed by and resistant to his growing feelings for her. On one level I love the whole notion of that soul-deep love. But I so wish that writers could figure out a different way to express it than constantly repeating that word over and over. Yet, to be fair, I can't really think of too many words that would truly suffice. (sorry, I digress a bit).Without all the repetition, the story itself could have been a lot tighter and moved a lot more quickly. It would have felt like more was happening with greater tension. Instead, each actual episode of investigation or plot advancement (including escalating attacks on Mikayla) were spaced out between lengthy and repetitive passages.Still, I am pleased with the woman who now holds Nik's heart and soul - they are in safekeeping. On a positive note - this book was not plagued with the major editing issues of others in the series.A final thought - and this may not be something widely shared by others - I really, really, really wish we could see more of the other SEALs and Elite Ops characters we have gotten to know and love in the past. It was great to see Ian and Kira - but they've been featured in a few other stories and I wouldn't mind that honor being given to some others. I have a special spot in my heart for Clint & Morganna (from Dangerous Games), and we only occasionally get a fleeting glimpse of them. Rather than the repetition, I would have loved the extra pages devoted to weaving in some of the others into the plot. My dream - that LL will someday create a story that pulls them all into the fray. That the main plot will be them all (wives included) banding together to deal with some threat, some evil criminal organization... something...

Better than expected
I agree with both of the previous reviews.the story turned out much better than I thought it would and I look forward to the next edition of the Elite Ops - Live Wire. Not sure who this one is about but hopefully it might be Jordan Malone's story.
