Bedlam's Edge (Bedlam's Bard Anthology, Book 8) [Mercedes Lackey, Rosemary Edghill, Michael B. Caffrey, Barb Caffrey, Mercedes Lackey] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Bedlam's Edge (Bedlam's Bard Anthology, Book 8) Review: Sliding Down the Razor Blade of Life - Ever wondered what was just around the corner? Felt like you were being watched, but when you turned around, nobody was there? Maybe you were wrong. Maybe there is something there, behind the flats and props of ordinary reality. Mercedes Lackey, Ellen Guon, and Rosemary Edghill created a look behind the scenes in their Bedlam's Bard series. What would happen if elves continued to exist in the present day? What would happen if they came to America with the colonists? And what would they be doing? In Bedlam's Edge, they've opened their universe to other writers, including talented newcomers Barb and Michael Caffrey (who sadly, passed away suddenly and too young), who share their own takes on the world of Urban Elves. Dave Freer and Eric Flint, Mercedes Lackey's co-authors in the Heirs of Alexandria series (if you haven't read the series, go immediately and buy all of them, including A Mankind Witch, the latest.), Roberta Gellis, Rosemary Edghill, India Edghill, and Mercedes Lackey herself all contributed to this excellent collection of short stories. Do you have to have read all the other books in the series to enjoy this one? Heck, no! In fact, it stands alone better than most anthologies do. This is a terrific collection. Every story is a jewel. Walt Boyes The Bananaslug. at Baen's Bar Review: Elves! Elves and Voudou! Elven Prince! Gay Male Elves! My story is a romp; but wonderful stories with depth. Must Read. - I'm biased, since I have a story in it as Jenn Saint-John. But let me tell you, there are some *really* good stories in here. Better than mine, and you can't know how hard that is to say. ;)

Excellent Read!!
All these stories are diverse. I love the way they all touch on some part of ancient mythology or old superstitions. Enjoy!!

Good anthology.
It's really nice getting a line on the other writers and the way they see the world. I thought this was a good read.

I didn't realize how much I did not like 1st person books until I started this series
I didn't realize how much I did not like 1st person books until I started this series. Didn't even finish the first book, and I usually love the way Mercedes Lackey writes. For example, I have all of her 500 Kingdoms series.

Love it
Requiring a number of words how damned annoying is that? When I said what I wanted to say with the Stars period and said what I wanted to say with the subject line

Five Stars
I loved the individual stories, wished that both authors had turned some of them into full length stories/novels.

Yay, Fey!
But the thing is, this collection of short stories is actually about serial killers, custody battles, lying to your lover, brothers going off to fight and die in a war, and surviving on your own at 13.

I enjoyed each and every story. I’m now eager to read more of each contributing writer’s works. Great way to start a new year

I like most of Mercedes Lackey's books. This series is not one of my favourites but it is well written.

Short stories. Not interesting.

Some stories better than others, with good writing, characters and plot, but all of some interest…mostly avoiding cuteness and ”twee-dom”…some good enough to search out other works by the authors…which is the point of anthologies, nicht wahr? Worth the price…
