Fireman Sam: The Great Fire Of Pontypandy [DVD]

Kid loves the characters & series, but warning - if your child (or you!) has grown up with the welsh voices, they may not want to watch this version as its the American voiced version (correct video but different audio), but I couldn't see any indication of this being the case until it started playing :(

I purchased this DVD for my 2 and a half year nephew whose absolutely mad about Fireman Sam, ever since he saw the first TV ad for this DVD he has been asking for it.I have since lost count of the amount of times he has now played this DVD, but I know I can lip synch to half the dialogue!My nephew never bores of watching Sam fight the great fire and I can honestly say that this has been well worth every penny spent. A must for anyone with a Fireman Sam fan for a child.One thing I will say is the big improvement the new CGI graphics make on this series, we have several Sam DVD's but I find the quality of the newer series much better than the older series. Not that this matters to my nephew but these newer episodes have a much more polished appearance.Some other children series have lost their appeal when remade, but this is not the case with the Fireman Sam franchise.So I can in all honesty, give this a 5 star rating, on behalf of my nephew.

My two elder boys didn't really get into Fireman Sam, my youngest can't get enough. This feature film is excellent, just the right length for young children and I quite enjoy sitting through it with my son.Great storyline, plenty of drama without being too upsetting, nice happy ending. Perfect!As someone who remembers the "old" Fireman Sam I might be in the minority but I think the new version is an improvement. The graphics are very good and the pace is much quicker, it's hilariously funny in places so the whole family ends up sitting watching it. Only the voices are a bit annoying, but you find yourself getting used to them. 5 stars!!

This DVD was purchased for our 2 year old grandson who loves Fireman Sam. Overall, I think this has been an excellent purchase which is well worth the money. Picture and sound quality is excellent and the storyline is easy for children to follow. THe DVD features all the Fireman Sam characters and our grandson was able to watch the entire DVD all the way through without becoming bored or distracted.Overall, 5 stars - I cannot recommend this product highly enough - Thank you Sam, Elvis, Suzy and all the gang!

We love this move however it's been re recorded with American speech and it hurts my ears to listen to

Eine wunderbare SAM-Geschichte.Fesselnd erzählt, Spannungsbogen geht nicht verloren. Handlung gut nachvollziehbar für die Kleinen.Meiner ist 4,5 Jahre alt. Ich halte nichts von Frühenglisch et cet. für Kleinkinder (bin Anglist). Aber GREAT FIRE kannten wir von der CD und ich fand nur die engl. Ausgabe. Dies hat das Sehvergnügen aber keinesfalls getrübt.Claudius Brasch

We've been watching a very poor copy recorded off the tv for the past few months and I decided enough is enough. It's so much better watching it on DVD especially as Fireman Sam has become a favourite with my two boys.

I purchased this for my son, who was very excited to watch it. I put the DVD in, and the DVD player said something to the effect of, "sorry, can't play this because it's for the wrong region." Seriously? Why would you sell a DVD in the US if it's coded for the Europe? It says "Made in England" on it, so I assume that it is coded for Europe.

My kids LOVE Fireman Sam! This movie is a lot of fun, well worth the watch for Fireman Sam fans. It did come in European format, though I thought it was in US format..but I was able to change the setting on my computer to watch it that way. That is my only gripe with it, but it works!
