the lead is short to the first bulb, not a major issue but you'll need a socket nearby. quality is very good, all bulbs worked, none broken. bulbs are delicate, handle with car. its good that they can be extended by ordering another set, the plug and sockets on the cable allow for extension. I'm not sure if a cable can be purchased so that the lights can be moved further away from the power socket. I would recommend buying a cable to extend away from the socket if available. I put them in a pergola, and they are lovely mood lights, not great (bright) for reading! I'm an electrician and I was very happy with them overall, I went back to buy another set, but are out of stock. Overall, very happy buyer. not sure if they are overly suitable for use in the wet or very damp conditions, says IP45, I wouldn't be swinging out of them in the wet, but if kept dry I wouldn't be concerned

I like the kit, and it's easy to fit, and you can buy spare bulbs, so I have hopes that it will last.HoweverHalf the bulbs have blown already. This is for about 2h daily use, outside.Luckily you can buy spares, and I hope that they will last longer.This is compared to a different set of lights that I bought 2 years ago and I have a couple of blown bulbs on that set so far.....So not great experience so far.Also, the lead from plug to 1st bulb is very short, so you will either need to be creative or buy an extension.When you take this all in to account I personally think you are better spending the extra getting a higher quality kit.

Got these to replace the originals on my string of lights, but only been in a couple of weeks and the water is in 4 of the 8 replaced they still work but are light little brown water fish bowls, the IP rating must be really low for outdoor lights.

These came well protected with each bulb pushed into its own slot of sponge type material to prevent damage in transit, once I had removed and unwound the wire itself I noticed there was not much spare wire from the plug to the first bulb meaning depending where your socket is your lights will start soon after.However the lights themselves are good quality and give of a nice glow when installed in my garden, we are using them around our decking and fence and they really do light up the area well.On the light fittings there is a hook which makes hanging them easier, they can be installed indoors or outdoors which makes them useful for a number of occasions.The bulbs screw in to the fitting and if you wanted to have even longer lights you can purchase another set and there is a connecter on the end of the lights to join these together.Overall I am very happy with these and can not wait for the warmer weather to enjoy these in my garden.
