Spigen Neo Hybrid Designed for Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Case (2018) - Shiny Black

I've had a series of Spigen cases on my S7 Edge and they lasted through a good amount of abuse while keeping it safe through all the drops.That said, when it came time to order my S9+, it was a no-brainer as far as what brand I'd be going with and I'm happy to report that Spigen is continuing with its high-quality cases. In comparison to the last few cases I've had:-The material quality feels much higher. I grabbed the gloss black case, and the rubber on the back feels much better than the S7 cases I had while the plastic feels much nicer than the painted bits from before.-Fit and finish are tight and precise. I bought the case before my preorder came in, so I was nervous about third-party cases matching the dimensions of the phone. My S9+ is nice and snug in this one.-The design feels a lot more thought out. My old cases had the plastic bezel completely wrap around the edge of the case, and far too often the thin plastic pieces around the USB port would break. This meant the plastic no longer held to the case and essentially required that I bought a new case. I was on my third case before I upgraded. Thankfully, this one has the plastic wrapped around the sides, top, and back of the phone, which pretty much eliminates the issues I was having.-The holes in the case seem big enough to accommodate all accessory sizes. I had a couple of headphones not fit the holes in the S7 Edge case, so that's a nice bonus.Initial impressions are positive and I'm confident this case will protect my phone. I will update this review at a later data with long-term impressions and experiences.

I'm a huge fan of Spigen phone cases and recommend them to everyone. As soon as I got my S9+, I knew what brand of case I'd be getting for it.The case is super slim, but protects the camera, screen, and high-impact areas very well. It's easy to put on but doesn't come off whenever you aren't wanting it to. The fit is exact and snug, just like all other Spigen cases I've owned. All cutouts for the headphone port, charger cable, and bottom speaker are the perfect size, however, they did miss a cutout for the top speaker.The design is very appealing without going too far. Simple, yet elegant. My biggest complaint (besides missing the top speaker cutout) is the buttons for volume/screen/Bixby. On every other Spigen case I've owned, they have had large, bulky buttons that are super easy to identify and press. As phone manufacturers create thinner phones, they keep making these buttons smaller, which I hate. Spigen usually makes these buttons large on their cases, but they kept them small on this one.If I could give a half star, then I'd take it away and give them 4.5 due to the thin buttons and the top speaker cutout being missing. Otherwise, this is an excellent phone case and I will recommend it to others for their S9+.

Just got the new GS9+. I've had the Gs7 the last 3 years and had a spigen case on it the whole time. 1 case, lasted me 3 years of dropping the phone.. Never a crack anywhere. My Gs7 looks brand new still. So there was no hesitation on buying another spigen case. I've had it on for over a week now and I love it. Still slim enough for me. Slips in my back pocket no problem. Side buttons work fine. If youre looking for hard core protection, I can't speak much on that but I'm just you're average 26 year old female looking for decent protection from cracks and scratches, and still admire the beauty of my phone. If that's what you're looking for, look no further. This is the case you want.UPDATED: just came back from my trip. I tripped on a cobble stone step off a boat cruise for all of Paris to see and my phone went flying, and I mean flying. Phone is perfectly fine...not one scratch or crack. However my toe was heavily injured. Thank you Spigen!

I really loved this case when I first received it. The color is really nice and it does the job of protecting my phone. I have lived Spigen cases for a while, and the thing I noticed about this one is that I have not yet had this case for a year and I have noticed some wearing off of the case. This case has not been dropped. The most rough treatment it has had is rolling around in my bag. It may just be a fluke, but I'm a little disappointed that this is happening so soon. Overall, I still like the case, just something to note if you are picky about little things like this :)Update: I dropped my phone on the grass/ground and this case did little to protect it. Ordered a replacement phone through my insurance and bought the Spigen Tough Armor case that I had before for my s6. Feels so much more protected in the new case. Cannot recommend this particular case.

I've bounced my phone off of the pavement dozens of times and it doesn't have a scratch on it, so from a protection standpoint it's worked well. The color rubbed off of the edges in the first year (slightly annoying), but the bigger issue was that about 16 months in, the plastic bezel around the outside cracked all the way through, rendering it useless at that point. I bought a replacement and purchased the same item, since I typically replace my phone every 2.5-3 years, and I figure the replacement will last for the remainder of the phone's life.It worked so well during that time that I think 3 stars is reasonable, but I'm a bit surprised that the case did not last the life of the phone. Still, it offers very good protection of the edges, the tactile feel is good and the form factor works. Yes, it's bigger than the phone, but not too obtrusive.

I love this case. It's very slim (I hate bulky cases) but is still very durable. I like the black rubbery back to it because my pet peeves with most cases is that it easily scratches when the phone is moved on a surface, and this rubber back prevents that. It also has a texture to it, so any scratch on it won't be easily seen. The front of the case has a raised top and bottom, so that even with a screen protector on it, when laying on its front, the screen won't touch or be rubbed on the table.The only con (very minor) is that the textured rubber back makes it easily for dirt or thick substances to be trapped in its crevices. But other than that, this case is definitely worth its price.

This is a great case. I previously had the neo hybrid case for my s7 edge, and decided to go with it again for my new s9 plus purchase. The case is slightly different to the one I had previously for my s7 edge, with a less aggressive texture on the back and a different, more grippy material for the frame.The case itself looks very clean, with good colour options available. I went with the gunmetal and black version. The branding isn't too aggressive, with a relatively small spigen logo on the bottom right of the back (when the back is facing you) and a small neo hybrid logo on the bottom of the left edge of the phone (when the phone screen is facing you).The phone fits perfectly into the case, snapping in easily and firmly. There doesn't seem to be any chance of the phone accidentally popping out of the case at all. The case is made from two different materials, a soft rubber that covers the entire back and sides of the phone, along with a plastic frame running around the edge of the phone and with a small strip along the bottom of the back of the case. This is said to offer increased protection, and I could believe it, with the rubber offering some impact absorption and the harder plastic distributing the impact over a larger area. The hard plastic is easy to grip and feels nice in the hand, if a little large. However this will be the case with any case offering the same level of protection. The phone remains easy enough to use with two hands, but use with only one hand may be a struggle.The buttons are easy to find and press through the case, although a little bit stiff at first. There is a small groove between the up and down volume buttons, making them easy to distinguish. There are cutouts for the bottom speaker, headphone jack and usb c port, which are perfectly located and will work for all but the very largest of usb c cables. There are also cutouts for the microphones, and using the case doesn't seem to affect call quality in the slightest.The case works perfectly with my fast wireless charger, with no apparent loss in speed and no added difficulty in getting the phone to charge.I haven't drop tested the case or anything like that, but if I were to guess if say the case would have no issue with most drops from hip or head height onto a flat surface. My previous spigen neo hybrid case (for my s7 edge) survived several drops onto hard surfaces with no trouble. There is a lip at the top and bottom of the case to provide protection for the screen. This lip seems to be very slightly smaller than on other cases, and so this case may struggle a little more with screen first drops onto more uneven surfaces. I would say that the durability of the case is higher than my old case. Overall I am very happy with this case and would recommend it for all except those who are looking for an extremely tough and rugged case. (Possibly look at the spigen tough armor case for that, although i havent tried that case yet.)In summary:Pros.Fits perfectly.Provides a good level of protection.Looks good.Is grippy - much easier to hold that a naked phone.Works perfectly with wireless fast chargingCons.Buttons are a little stiff at first.The lip to protect the screen is smaller than some other cases.Makes the phone a little harder to use one handed (as expected of any case of the same size)As always, remember to remove the phone to clean both it and the case from time to time, as dust and grit can make their way into the case and scratch your phone!

I am writing this review after using this case for nearly a year and it is simply brilliant.Firstly, it is not too bulky and doesn't add too much thickness to it. All the buttons are perfectly positioned and the openings for charge port as well as the headphone port are wide enough so that a wider than standard plug can be used.Now for durability: I do use the phone extensively for work and leisure and it has suffered many drops from various heights onto various surfaces without any damage to the phone. The rubber part of the case isn't showing any signs of wear while there is some signs of wear on the plastic part were some of the paint is scratched due to extensive wear/dropping. The plastic surround part on my case has cracked on one of the corners after it was dropped on the concrete however I suspect that this prevented a nasty crack on the phone so happy days indeed.Overall, very pleased with this purchase, probably saved me replacing my screen at least 4 times.

Really great case.... I spent a disproportionate amount of time looking into cases for my Samsung s9+ and I cannot recommend this case highly enough! It is a well fitting one piece case. It has a slightly raised lip around the edge that will help protect the screen from cracking.The case is lightweight but strong, and also is kot very thick at all. When researching cases i didn't want a case that would give my phone a bulky feel.... and I am so glad that I opted for this case! Even with the case on my phone still feels slim and sleek, not bulky at all!It does not come with a screen protector but I bought a spider screen protector that works with this case like a dream.Cannot recommend this case highly enough!

I have used spigen cases when possible and yet again another great case for the S9+.It's a kind of in the middle case as in its not too bulky which means it may not offer same level of protection as a bulky case would. Saying that I feel reassured that my phone is protected for the level I need and believe it would keep it safe if it fell on the floor.It had a nice pattern on the back, the buttons are still easy to press.A great case and would recommend it to anyone who wants good protection without adding too much bulk.

I've had Spigen products protect all my devices and have never let me down. They almost always suit the phone, can tie in with the selection of colours of the phone available and in someway make it look as if it was born to be with the phone... A partnership...My only criticism is that the case itself is quite slippy when holding it, there is no real sense of grip or security when holding the phone. This was surprising as my last few cases were brilliant for the S6 and S7.It certainly feels as if it would easily slip out of your hand.As for protection, it covers all the areas needed and has worked well with the glass shield I purchase to protect the screen.
