Fun Science
The media could not be loaded. Plasma balls are fascinating and great fun, you can just leave them on as a interesting display or interact with them. This one comes with a USB power lead, or alternatively you can use 3xAAA batteries. This ones quite small and I would have preferred a larger globe but for kids this is an ideal size.

Basic plasma ball
This is a fairly 'no frills' Plasma Ball but it works as advertised. Quite basic quality and low cost materials but it works fine. It has two modes - standard and audio based (the latter reacts to music playing through a built in mic).I noticed that when the product is on, it emits a faint 'electrical' smell. Maybe this is normal and it's very very slight, but I wasn't the only person to notice it when it was on.

Impressive visual display
With touch and sound activation, it responds to your every move and sound, creating stunning red lightning patterns. This novelty lamp isn't just for kids; it adds a unique touch to parties and gatherings. It's a fun way to introduce science concepts like voltage and current. Overall, a fantastic addition to any room.

An Attractive Novelty - Works Well - Looks Good
I remember when 'plasma balls' like these first came out and were very expensive. Now you can get ones like this for a fraction of what they used to cost, and still look great. The device can be powered by either batteries or a 5V external supply and it comes bundled with a USB power lead. Simply plug it in and turn it on. It is visible in full daylight, but like most lighting effects, it looks far better in the dark.I'll let the photos do most of the talking, but it is a pretty little novelty that can be used to liven up a corner of the room. I love this sort of retro-cool technology and I think this would make a great little gift for the guy that has everything.

Big Kid nostalgia
My husband always wanted one of these as a kid. So he decided we should get one.It was a good few minutes of fun and marvel and then it got packed away again.Good as a prop for a mad scientist lab.

Fun but smelly
This plasma ball is, on reflection, just like ones that I've used in the past and that friends have owned - fun to look at, smelly to spend a lot of time with. This is a fun distraction and something that most children would appreciate getting time to play with while growing up, but ultimately in the long run I think it will gather dust. I'd recommend this for a house with a lot of visitors, an area where lots of people travel through etc. Most individuals won't use this regularly, but it has great novelty value.
