RBP RBP-1216B-RX3 RX-3 Series Step Bar Black

Not sure how much space I'll have so I'll try to be concise. My biggest concern was the price. For the amount of money being charged I expected better build quality. There is 0 quality assurance being done on these before they ship. The grates between the bars are welded every 10 to 12 inches and some of the welds miss the grate completely. On one side the wire grate was broken. The welds on the brackets were done by a novice welder and none of the splatter was cleaned afterward. The powder coating was simply applied over the splatter which creates a weak point in the powder coating and a likely early corrosion point. The mounting points are the structural weak points although sturdy enough for most applications. Installation can be done alone if you are mechanically inclined but the instructions could be done better. They came packaged very well and there were no scratches, dents or dings from shipping that I could tell even though the box was mangled. All in all I'm keeping these because the styling is awesome and I live in a dry environment where I don't need to worry about corrosion. If these were $150 they would get a 5 star from me because the workmanship is at the $150 range. Wish I could submit some photos.

Perfect height for us and they look great! Instructions were good. Installed in about an hour and a half. There is a bit of give if you put your full weight on them and bounce up and down. More of an issue to my husband than to me, but how often do you only stand on just the step? Our only real complaint is a mistake in fabrication. There is one metal mesh line that was mis-welded (see pic). If it was on the passenger side, or towards the back, it wouldn't be an issue. But this is on the driver's side right where my husband gets in and out every day. It's an eyesore to him but not worth the effort to return for a new set.

The product looks cool and is very good quality, but all that doesn't make up for the substandard mounting hardware. Other companies have much easier and higher quality hardware. I ended up buying my own bolts and lock washers and made my own. My father in law who helped me install them, and has installed hundreds of these said the same thing bad quality mounting hardware.I didn't realize that these weren't wheel to wheel, and they only cover the cab, which I guess isn't a deal breaker, but not really what I wanted.With that said, if you can get past the mounting hardware they are good quality, and look cool on my truck.

Everything came as described and fit perfectly on my 2018 dodge ram 2500! Looks great and didnt get in the way of underbody lights or train horns I installed afterwards. Thank you!!
