Great Replacement!
Picked up this igniter replacement for my furnace as a just in case replacement if it goes out and fails again. This is an exact replacement as I hooked it up to verify and it works perfectly! Storing it now and I would recommend this as a good replacement on hand! No complaints!

A must have for a spare!
This is a critical part of most modern gas heating furnaces and is said to have a lifespan of 4 to 7 years. It's good to have a spare. If it's broken, no heat. In the winter, there could be freeze damage if you are away for an extended period. This one looks good and comes packaged well in foam - this is critical as the element is quite fragile and easily broken. Use care removing the protective "foam block" from the box - if it's tight, best to cut the box open rather than push hard on the foam and risk breaking the element. When trouble shooting an inoperative heater, a good ignitor will measure approximately 120 ohms - a bad one will show open (infinite).

Hot Furnace Surface Ignitor Replacement
This was purchased to have as a backup, because there is nothing worth than the furnace failing on some weekend night, and that seems to happen more often than I care to admit with older units... Especially relevant nowadays when most of the local repair shops that would sell parts to the public are gone meaning if you are a DIYer (like me) you need to order online and wait, or call up a local repair shop and pay them to install what they may have in stock...For my I like to have one of these on hand, along with a flame sensor just in case... This particular one will work in both of my furnaces and also in my gas clothes dryer so it's a no-brainer to have it on hand...They are delicate and one has to be careful handling and replacing them, so keep that in mind, also best to not touch the element part, it's technically OK to touch it but why take the risk of damaging it, when you can simply handle it by the ceramic housing?
