This is a prime example (no pun intended) of a product that was actually difficult to buy on Amazon due to so many conflicting reviews. Hopefully my review helps a little. This device works to suck up all the little bits in the bottom of a pool or spa that you cannot catch with a net. It's manually operated and requires no electric, batteries or running water/hose. You immerse the bottom section in to the water and like an enormous syringe, pull the handle and suck water up in to the tube then push the handle so the water comes back out. As the water is sucked in, debris/dirt is caught in the filter and due to a one-way valve inside this dirt/debris stays in the filter when the water is pushed back out. It's quite physical, if you have a bad arm or shoulder this will not work for you. It relies on the strength in your arms, the harder you pull the more suction there is. For me this works really well. I have a 10ft circular above-ground pool which had loads of dirt in the bottom, took about half an hour the first time but if done weekly it only takes 10-15 mins. Couple of points based on previous reviews. This is not a cheaply-made device, yes it's plastic but it does not look or work like it will fall apart after a few uses. Sub £30 is what this should be priced at, I paid just over that but am happy with the results so i'll live with it. If it spits dirt out when you push the water out then its broken or not assembled correctly. You have to use this correctly and have the ability to pull the handle strong enough or it will not work. You dont have to be muscle man (or woman), my 11 year old son can use it just fine. You need to 'prime' it before you start using it. Simply submerge the lower section in the water and pump a few times to get all the air out then crack on. Move it a little bit at a time, if you move too quickly and just brush along the bottom, the brush will just move all the dirt to a higher part of the pool. Lastly - a quick tip for round pool owners, get the kids to make a whirlpool in the water by walking round the edges for a bit then get out. After an hour or so when the water has settled, all the dirt will be in a circle in the middle which makes using this vacuum a lot quicker.

I was dubious about buying this item given the conflicting reviews, but can honestly say I’m very happy with it. Well packed ( with instructions in English) and an extremely sturdy bit of kit, it’s plastic obviously, but you would have to be extremely rough to break it. As to using it, it’s a doddle, I only have a four person hot tub, but it cleared the gravel effortlessly. As to the pumping bit, it’s very easy, don’t know why the reviews I read ( who praised it too) thought it was difficult. Only used once, I will return and update if it breaks!

This is my first vac as we're also new to hot tubs. Firstly I was amazed at it's size for the price! Simple and quick to assemble and easy to use. Vacuums up debris quickly and efficiently. Very relaxing to use as you slowly pump away. Good lot of attachments. I am giving it 4 out of 5 over all because the plastic is that hard brittle sort rather than that plastic rubber type. I would recommend this essential tool.

Great tool for a hot tub. Simple straight forward idea which works extremely well with great results. Does exactly what it says it does and does it well and with very little effort.

On opening the item I found the inner pipe jammed inside the large tube when I d screwed them together to pull it out the white end snapped away,I've tried supergluing it together, have tried to get InTouch with the supplier, nothing heard, I think it might be ok for small bits of debris but so is a sieve

This was easy to put together and use works perfectly for my hot tub. I've seen bad reveiws so was unsure to buy but glad I did, maybe other reviewers didn't put together correctly or something I don't no. but it has taken every little peice of sand hair fluff from swim clothes, my tub is crystal clear. You insert into pool give a few pumps to fill filter area with water then slowly place beside any deris then pull back the pump to suckle in debris, Slowly move it away to push water out ( as to not disperse the remaining debris )then repeat until tub is fully clean. Once finished pump it above water to drain as much water as possible, it retains water in the filter area so I unscrew it and clean it elsewhere. Don't unscrew above tub as debris will come out. Hope this was helpful Well worth the money for a vac that doesn't require batteries or hose, it's a must have in my opinion to keep your hot clean.

I bought this vac to assist in emptying the large pool of water from our hot tub that the electric pump can’t manage. It sucks up water fine but doesn’t drain back when you release the pressure so I had to continually unscrew the end to allow the water to drain out. It would have been quicker to use a bucket! The parts are cheap and the Vac is made of poor quality plastic. Ultimately it’s not fit for purpose. To add insult to injury the seller does not have a returns policy so it has cost me £12 to return a faulty product. Brilliant - not!

Works really well and I'm surprised how fine the dirt can be to get caught in the filter. What the product details doesn't tell you is there is clever valve on the bottom so when you need to push the plunger back ready to carry on vacking the water leaves with out pushing the dirt out

Après deux expériences décévantes avec des aspirateurs de piscine, je suis ravie d'avoir opté pour ce modèle simple et efficace. Super pour nettoyer le fond d'une petite piscine ou un spa ... la notre fait 2 x 4 mètres. Très facile à utiliser, pas besoin de beaucoup de force, pas de charge, facile à nettoyer et pas cher !

Nettoyer ponctuellement les déchets lourd qui ne vont pas dans la filtration c'est parfait
