CXK Bone Conduction Headphones, Open Ear Headphones Bluetooth 6.0 with Mic

Are you d/Deaf or hard of hearing? Do you wear hearing aids that don't have great music streaming quality, and you can't wear earbuds with them? My friends, this is the solution. I had tried a bone conduction walkie-talkie headset at a previous job and it had been a pretty good upgrade compared to the on-ear headset that broke my receiver wire and certainly did not help the asymmetry of my hearing loss. So I was pretty hopeful that a bone conduction Bluetooth headset would work, now that I'm in a role where everyone's listening to music all the time but I still need my hearing aids on. First thing I have to say: PEOPLE AROUND YOU **CAN** HEAR THIS. I tested it with two family members with great hearing and they heard it well enough standing a few feet away from me. However, working in a noisy environment as I do, it's no big deal. But if you yourself are looking for a solution that's silent to those around you, this ain't it. The headset fits great around the back of my head, and let me tell you, I have a BIG head. If you have thick hair like I do as well, you may find that you need to tuck the back loop underneath your hair for better comfort. I tested the sound quality a few different ways: - no hearing aids, no earplugs - with earplugs (included) - wearing hearing aids, but powered off - wearing hearing aids, powered on None of these gave any reduction in sound quality, no muffling effects. Clear transmission through and through. They are comfortable enough to wear for the entirety of an 8-9-hour day at work. Unlike my hearing aids, which pitch hissyfits if they have to try and communicate via Bluetooth while my phone is in my jeans pocket, these have no issue with Bluetooth connection regardless of pocket placement. I'll say that they can slip out of place or go askew at times but usually not. Also, a huge selling point is that they have CONTROL BUTTONS!! 3 buttons on the right-hand side to play/pause, skip forward, rewind, and increase/reduce volume. An excellent feature since bosses don't love when you pull your phone out to mess with your music. I've had no issues with durability or quality yet and it's been a few months. They haven't broken, decreased performance quality, or even chipped their paint or anything so far. Especially if you, like me, feel a bit unsure about shelling out for a higher-priced headset like from the SHOKZ brand, this is a great set to test out if bone conduction headsets are going to work for you.

This is a bone conduction headset, so it operates differently than normal in-ear or over-ear earbuds. In fact, it doesn't cover the ear at all; your ear canal is completely unobstructed. Rather, the disks you see sit against the skin of your head just in front of your ears (just in front of the tragus -- look it up!), leaving your ears completely open. You can't hear any sound from the headphones if the disks are more than an inch or so away from your head, so you could be playing these at max volume and the person sitting next to you wouldn't be able to hear anything. Plus, since your own ears are not covered, you can also hear ambient sound. That is a plus and minus: if you are on a plane or public transit watching a movie on your phone and want to shut out sound around you, this is a bad choice. But if you're listing to music while on a run or (particularly) a bike ride, and for safety sake you need to be able to hear ambient noise (a passing car or someone shouting out a warning), these are perfect. I primarily use headphones while running or working out, so I need to be able to hear outside sounds, and earbuds (or particularly over-the-ear headphones) could be dangerous -- I won't use headphones while bike riding because the danger from not hearing an approaching car could be deadly. But these are perfect for bike riding. The quality of the sound is good -- again, it takes a little getting used to, hearing through your skull rather than your ears. I don't see any drop-off between regular earbuds and these in terms of sound enjoyment. Only downside -- because volume depends on contact with the skin, the headset moves a little when you move your head (especially when you look directly up), which can impact the volume. Again, it just takes a little getting used to. Quality is good, battery life seems good so far. The on-off button must be pressed for 3 seconds to turn on and 5 seconds to turn off, which is longer than other headsets; and if you take it off and set it down while it's still connected, you'll run down the battery without knowing it (because you can't hear that it's still on). One other thing to get used to. The other buttons are easy to use, and they're spaced far enough apart to be able to use without looking. I've been wearing these exclusively for the last week or so after getting them, and I think they'll be my go-to for workouts. They'll definitely be my go-to for bike rides, since I can easily wear them with a bike helmet on, too.

As someone who has never found a comfortable "in the ear" bluetooth headphones, these have been a game changer. I read/listen to a lot of audiobooks and having these bone conduction headphones allows me to do that seamlessly. They fit comfortable around my ear and I dont have to worry about losing them throughout the day. They stay charged for a long period of time and that is a important to me. You can hear clearly through them and the sounds others receive has been good as well. You can wear these while exercising, cooking or any other task where you are mobile. This is my 2nd pair and it's only because the pads covering the speaker came off. Very satisfied with my purchase and customer service has been really good. I had a positive interaction with Gabby in customer service and I'm happy with the outcome of that exchange.

Update: After posting my initial review (see below) the seller contacted me. Their efforts to address my concerns have resulted in me upgrading my review to 3 stars. I would give the seller more stars but I don't want that to be misleading for people looking to buy these bone conduction headphones. For that particular product, my 2 star review stands. However, the seller suggested I try a similar product, EP03, although they are NOT bone conduction. These are open-ear headphones, two separate pieces that wrap around each ear and set near the ear opening, not in it. I had been skeptical but am pleased with the product overall. They give the same open ear experience but it does not have the big loop around the back of the head that was so uncomfortable on the original headphones. Also, though the call quality was described as bit "tinny", the quality far surpassed the bone conduction headphones. It took a bit to get used to the controls, and it is missing a "skip back" or "previous" option, but I'm pleased with this other option. If you're looking for an open ear headphone, I suggest you check out the seller's other options. It doesn't have to be bone conduction to give you good sound quality. Initial Review for these bone conduction headphones 2 stars: While it says these are adjustable, the adjustment entails pulling the sides together a bit, which does not fix the problem that the loop sticks out too far in the back. If you're wearing a coat or a collared shirt, these are constantly being hit. They also sit uncomfortably around the top/front of the ear and I have to take them off and massage the area. The call quality is absolutely terrible. I can hear people just fine but they cannot understand me and I have to disable these when I take a call. The buttons are okay, but the main button in the middle SHOULD be slightly different or bigger. They are all close to each other, and with the small size I am constantly hitting the wrong button. Sometimes, even when I manage to hit the right button, they don't seem to connect as the music does not start or pause. I previously bought a similar pair a year before (similar $) but those are no longer available on Amazon. They were comfortable, responsive, and the call quality was great. I know there are good quality bone conduction headphones at a low price, but these are not. The only plus is that I can hear the music, caller, or audiobook just fine.

The included earbuds can be used if desired to cancel background noise, although I did not find it necessary. The buttons are intuitive, making it easy to adjust volume, skip tracks, or take calls without fumbling. I tested this by using them for about 7 hours continuously, and they didn’t show any signs of running out of power. Received these - X14 - headphones today; this will be an initial review as this is the second set of this type of hearing device. I'm also comparing these to earbuds and over in-ear buds with wire attached. PROS 1. Wide variety of functions w/o app that other sets require. Functions included without use of an app: Answer/end/reject call. Voice assist for hands free functions while working out or otherwise busy. Volume +/-. Play/pause. Previous song/podcast. Next song/podcast. This is important to me so that I don't have to pull out my phone to use an app function, or remove headphone to listen to some one talking to me, or drop ear buds while trying to free myself from sounds. So adjusting to someone speaking is as simple as a quick tap and the headphones stay in place. 2. Sound is very nice. The volume does NOT have to be turned on full to hear speaking, music, or videos. It doesn't BOUNCE against my head with high volume and base. 3. Fit sits comfortably by riding close to hairline in back of head without touching skin anywhere except near the pads in front of the ear. 4. Has a built in microphone which is sensitive enough to allow caller to hear my responses easily without having an audience in the public eye. CONS For all other devices - not headphone - functions, whether (phone, tablet, computer) must be performed manually. For example, I'm working on transcriptions from device using CXK X14 Headphnoes and an alarm sounds. I have to turn alarm off from devise manually, but I can continue to hear work that I'm transcribing. I put this in CONS as I missed a few key strokes with left hand, but I WAS ABLE to continue work with right hand. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. With my earbuds I ALWAYS worried about losing my investment if my hoodie bumped them wrong, or f I got too close with a comb or brush, my grooming would not be complete. With over the ear earbuds, they were secure and comfortable except for the itching or if someone wanted my attention. Then there was the issue of the wire, but I always ran the wire up the front of my shirt so the wire was less visible and out of the way. This set I would recommend.

I don't use these headphones too frequently, since I have several pairs of different headphones I rotate through, but these Bone Conduction headphones work great and has pretty good battery life! They're very lightweight and can fit in my fanny pack, purse/bag, or even my pocket when I'm running errands. After adjusting the band to the correct size, the headphones fit pretty comfortably; they move slightly out of place when I'm sweating quite a bit from exercising, but for the most part they tend to stay in place. These are especially great when being out and about so I can focus on hearing my surroundings in public! They aren't exactly noise cancelling since it's not covering your ears and is placed on the outside, but the volume is still great and can be loud enough to jam to. It's also not a headache to connect to Bluetooth, as I've had no problems with it so far, and I've had these for about a year now. I'm writing this review on behalf of Gabby, who has reached out from customer support, asking how these headphones were working for me and was willing to help if I had noted any issues! I definitely recommend these if you're looking for something lightweight and easy to carry with you!

I wanted to experience bone conduction but did not want to invest too much in case I did not like it. Overall these work better than I would have expected for the price but there do seem to be a few problems with them. On the positive side, they are comfortable and the battery does last a long time. Also while the audio is not great it is fairly good, better than I was expecting for the price. Finally, I have read that other products in this price range can be too quiet that is not the case with these. In fact when outdoors (e.g. cross country skiing) I find if I want to hear things going on around me I need to keep the volume very low (but can still hear the audio just fine). The not so good things are that they don't stay in place very well and I frequently have to move them back into place, and things like my shirt/jacket collar frequently bumps them out of place. I have also had them turn themselves off a few min after I start using them (fully charged battery). And a few times they have what I am assuming is gone to "sleep" and while my phone indicated they were still connected they would not pass audio so I had to shut them off, turn them back on and reconnect them to my phone to get them working again. While the battery lasts a looooong time, there is no charge indication. Apparently they don't beep or give any other indication that the battery is low and so will just shut off when the charge is depleted. While that was just an annoyance when listening to music, it would be worse if I were on a call or using them for a remote meeting. So while I will say they are better than I was expecting, I would describe these as a low risk way to try out bone conduction. But they not something I would recommend unless the low price was the most important feature. I will probably be replacing these with a higher end product soon.
