Product works fine - you will need some skill and patience to install
eXtremeRate Multi-colors Luminated D-pad Thumbsticks Face Buttons (DTF) LED Kit for PS4 Controller 7 Colors 9 Modes Touch Control I saw a handful of reviews that berated this kit for a variety of different reasons. I had to post a review primarily because I felt a number of them were unfounded for the product I received. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the soldering joints, and the wiring seemed almost perfectly measured. The instructions were straight forward and provided images to help get you from point A to point B.All that being said, the wiring is relatively delicate. If you are not careful during the install and rebuilding of your controller there is a chance you could sever a wire or break a solder joint. This isn't the fault of the product, and is why I do recommend you have some comfort level with modding. It wouldn't hurt to have some small electronics experience in the event you do end up with a severed wire or joint.Again, the product seems to work great. Everything fit in to place nicely. The touch sensor switch works well. I did apply some additional backing (provided in my kit) to that back of the sensor to help ensure it had optimal contact with the inner shell of the controller. You can see this inside one of my images. I added it to the back of the sensor (opposite the MOSFET). Once everything is in place you should only need to apply light pressure to trigger the switch for on, off, and light toggle.

Looks amazing in the 500 Million Edition Controllers!!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Enjoying this product so far. I installed it in my 500 million edition controller and I'm not disappointed at all! Installation was pretty easy for the most part. You have to be careful about where exactly you put the touch sensor though. If you put it to close to the sides or near screws you can pinch the wires causing it to not work. So it took me a few tries to get it in the perfect place. Something I did not see in the instructions though. You can tap the sensor to change colors and mods. I

Awesome...for a while
Firstly, I've repaired and modded a controller before but never added lights. Thought this would add some extra flare to the atomic purple case for the DS4. Now, the installation was a bit tricky and i wish the wires were easier to work with but it wasnt too bad if you had the patience. Onto the bad. The led on the joysticks were awful when actually playing games. The leds would pull in most cases, thus making the cable come up and make the joysticks worse. After trying to fix the issue i then ran into another. The wires to the arrow buttons pulled the flex cable while trying to close it again and tore enough to cause some lights to stop working. Few hours later, 80% of leds stopped working. Now i have $30 of waisted leds. All in all, cool mod, but not worth the issues. Not $30 worth it at least

Be careful using L3/R3 buttons. It may cause a fire.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. While it worked fine the 1st 2 days, i noticed that when i pressed L3 it got brighter. Then today while using it i see only the right side is changing colors while the other is red. I powered off the LED and it remained red. Also my controller powered off. All this while I’m playing the game online. It will not let me power on the controller until I connect it to the USB charger. After this happens a third time I smell smoke or burning electrical components. Luckily my tools were still nearby and I took the controller apart to find the glue surrounding the power connector to the touchpad has melted and is sticking to other components. Immediately I disconnected the battery. Then I began taking these pictures and writing this review. And then make the video, included, demonstrating how using the left analog stick causes the yellow LED to malfunction. When this happens the entire controller malfunctions. While waiting for the video to upload I no longer feel that it safe to leave this connected inside my controller.Don’t want to start a fire while I’m away, And this was my only working controller. It is the original dual shock 4 with JDM-055 board That came with my PS4. While removing the adhesive LED strips, it destroys my flex board. Now my controller is useless. I am not even requesting a refund at this time. I simply want my controller to function as it did before the kit… Normally. Can you please send me a replacement flex board for my JDM-055 controller Or a credit so that I may purchase one here on Amazon.I refuse to bash the product or company as I’m aware mistakes happen but, my controller worked fine before using your product. At the very least I deserve a refund or credit or replacement parts for my controller.Thank you.Side note: The burning smell came from the LEDs surrounding the left analog stick. Even though the glue or caulking or whatever around the power connector was melted.UPDATE: I have been in contact with them and they have offered ti replace both my kit and flex board. I didnt expect this much. Glad they stand behind their product with decent customer service.

Yikes that pad
Faulty design of having a copper touch sensor pad basically breaks this product. Instructions were good, and i didn't have any issues with the installation. All my buttons, and front led indicator light worked fine, just the leds refused to work. Took it apart, tested direct contact of the pad. Nothing. Touched the solder point and it worked, albeit dimly. The problem was the pad. regardless of how much or long i made contact, nothing. Leds worked, and it properly split the power to the leds and the battery. I guess the mod wasn't very intrusive and it didn't damage the controller. I regret buying.

Product received is not what was pictured or described.
This was a complete waste of money. The whole reason we purchased this was to be able to see the shape buttons in the dark. The products we received is NOT what is shown. The buttons that were sent are the same buttons the controller already has, with the exception of the joysticks. The only thing that lit up is the perimeter of the buttons, and the joy sticks are blindingly bright in the dark...to the point that you could not use it in a dark room. We ended up taking it back out of the controller. The only thing that gives this one star is that it is fairly easy to install. Complete waste of money.
