Okay When They Actually Work But Overpriced Compared to Other Options
When both earbuds will pair this product works superbly in the online mode.Although the earbuds seem solid and are comfortable to wear, with good sound quality, the high price is clearly not for them, but for use of the Was Trans app which will only work when connected to these, or other specific earbuds, sold at a similar price, around £100, compared to similar standalone earbuds which can be purchased for £10 or less.So here is the first problem, if the supplied earbuds malfunction or are lost, it is not possible to purchase standalone earbuds at a more reasonable price to be be able to continue using the app, the product has to effectively be reputchased at around £100.My experience so far is that the supplied earbuds are not reliable. After a week or so the right earbud refused to pair thus work, the white bluetooth light flashing rapidly. There is nothing about this, or how to reset the earbuds, in the manual, nor any online technical support that I could find, nor any satisfactory way of contacting the seller/manufacturer to ask for help.Allowing the earbud battery to run flat seemed to force a reset and they worked again happily as a pair for another week or so, before the left earbid developed the same problem. This time, no amount of playing around with it would cause it to reset or connect again, so they are being returned for a refund. This is a shame, because had they continued to work as they should, I would have been perfectly happy with them, despite a couple of tthings that could be better, one being the product itself, and one an android issue. The issue with the product which I felt could be better was the offline add on. Yes, it will allow voice translation offline, which is great compared other free apps will only allow text translation offline, but despite this, translation offline with voice recognition was poor, almost unusable compared to online.Second, in offline mode, it can only be used in 'speaker mode' that is one person using the earbuds, and the other the phone speaker. It would be better if it could be used in 'Free talk mode' where both people can use an earbud and there is no need to tap to speak.Whilst the android problem is not the fault of the product, it does detract from the use of the product. Android phones will only allow earbud mics to be used for phone calls, which means when using the translation app, both people need to be near enough to the attached phone fpor the mic on it to pick up their speech.Having used similar earbuds attached to an iPhone, which does allow earbud mics to be used, it is a much better experience, allowing users to speak to each other even when on opposite side of a road. Whilst this might not be essential, being able top tall when on opposite side of a room would be good, but does not work well when the app is used on an android phone.Overall, I would say there is minimal benefit in using these earbuds in online mode compared to using a cheap pair of earbuds with Google/Microsoft/Similar, and the only benefit of the offline add on compared to those free appsis the voice transaltion capability, even if it is of a poor quality
