13" x 13"x 13" Flammable Cabinet

Some of the reviewers complained that when they received their fire cabinet, they discovered that it was too small. The dimensions are right there in the description. The outside dimensions are 13 x 13 x 13. Take your elementary school ruler and lay in on the table. The cabinet is an inch wider than that. Rotate it away from you. The Cabinet is an inch deep than that. Stand it on end, and again, the enclosure is an inch taller. The inside dimensions are about 9-3/4 inches side-to-side and front-to-back and 11 inches high. My application is for cleaners and solvents used in woodworking – lacquer and paint thinner, mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, etc. This cabinet will hold eight cans of these items. (See the photos.) I am considering purchasing another one to hold spray lacquer and paint. It looks like the cabinet will hold a dozen spray cans – four across and three deep. The cabinet is shipped in a cardboard box inside a plywood box with a metal frame. It was definitely packaged to survive an overseas trip. Plan on spending an hour getting it out of the boxes. Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase. It arrived in great condition and is the perfect size from my application. The price was great. The “commercial” ones were much more expensive. Actually, one I looked at cost 3 or 4 times as much as this, and the shipping charge was going to cost as much as this cabinet. So, for my needs, this is a bargain.

I use this fire retardant cabinet to store all of my LiPo batteries for my R/C airplanes and helicopters. Even with the batteries being at storage charge, this cabinet gives me greater peace of mind from burning down my garage or worst yet, my entire house.

Nice cabinet. Instructions are totally (my best guess) in Chinese. I'll try to be safe and should be able to ground it okay. The gloves??

Do not waste your money. Arrived damaged, front door has almost a centimeter gap, bottom bent like it was already installed. Instructions in Chinese. I wouldn't trust this to store my dirty socks, much less the small amount of chemicals I have in my classroom.

Cabinet seems good. Unfortunately, there are shelves in the image and they are also mentioned in the product information. Too bad none were actually in the cabinet or its packaging. I contacted the seller and they gave me a partial refund that I will use to find a shelf that fits.

Sound product. Safe way to store lithium batteries.

Arrived with a small dent but it doesn't interfere with functionality. Good box that is holding my stuff in a secure/safe manner. Worth what I paid for.

If you fly drones long enough, you eventually learn that the most dangerous part of the job is not the flying, it is the charging. Anyone who has ever seen a LiPo battery go into thermal runaway knows exactly what I am talking about. If you have not, go look it up online and you will understand why something like this fireproof case is a must-have. A lot of people rely on a simple LiPo bag, but let us be honest... that is fine for tiny batteries. Once you get into the larger drone packs, those things burn hot enough to go straight through a normal LiPo bag. That is why I picked up this case. It gives you real peace of mind. The metal is thick, solid, and designed to contain a fire, not just slow it down. Some folks mentioned dents or scratches when theirs arrived, but truthfully I could not care less what it looks like. This is not a showpiece. Its only job is to keep my house from ending up on the evening news while I am charging batteries for a job, and it does exactly that. Mine had a couple small marks on the outside, but nothing that affects performance, and frankly I expected it. This thing is built to take a beating. I have had batteries swell in the past, and that alone was enough for me to stop messing around. This case gives me the confidence to charge my packs without standing over them the entire time. If you fly drones; especially larger ones; just get this. It is cheap insurance and worth every penny for the peace of mind alone.
