Interesting Headset
Made for a large head. They are fairly heavy. I got a used pair that lasted about two years before the swivel joint on the left side broke. The stock ear pads don’t last very long and will need a replacement. For me this is just how the headphone experience has been for me so maybe you’re more careful if you’re the person that bought these at full price which I think is like over $200 it’s definitely not worth it but they usually go use for like $50 which is fair for the unique surround sound experience even if it’s kind of a gimmick

Great until it breaks
Great audio quality and comfort but be wary of a problem razer has with their headphones in that the cushions always seem to bust open.Normally it wouldn't be an issue, however, razers customer support is horrible at best. I've been trying to get replacement cushions for approximately 5 months now since before the warranty expired but have been told they were out of stock. Now they have started telling me that the replacement cushions are no longer in production and I am no longer covered by their warranty even though I brought up the issue before it fell off. Just today one of the earpieces broke off. They won't even let me return the ear cushions that they told me would fit but didn't.I have been a fan of razer for over a decade but because of the horrible service and shoddy craftsmanship I've been experiencing lately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.TL;DR Great headset until it starts falling apart about a year later then good luck trying to get it fixed.

Not easy to set up, but worth the frustration.
- Extremely frustrating to set up- Absolutely amazing sound if you can manage to get them configured right before giving up. Music sounds FANTASTIC and the positional audio in games is so much better than my USB headsets.- The control dial is super handy - I like being able to control the sub on the fly because it gets insane in some games and if I don't turn it down then I find myself hiding in a trench; unable to hear the voices of my comrades screaming for me to come save them over the deafening boom of artillery and tank fire in Hell Let Loose.- The mic quality is really bad - not why I bought these hunks but it woulda been nice to be able to use it. Possible use in roleplaying the terrible quality of VHF radios.I bought these and paired them with an ASUS Xonar DSX sound card, since it was on the list approved by Razer. I struggled to get them sounding anywhere close to decent and shelved them for a solid year. Decided to give them another go.. after a struggle getting them set up right I was, and weeks later still am, absolutely stoked on them. Going to be real hard to go back to stereo / virtual surround headsets after these beasts.EDIT: Over a year later and this is still hands down the best headset I have ever used for gaming. The padding on the headset is annoyingly covered in something that has frayed off of both ears at this point - but I love them so much (and don't foresee any better options for true surround headsets in the near future) that I bought two extra pairs and will leave them in the box until these die or become worn enough they need to be swapped out.

There is a background hum.
Pros: true 7.1 audioCons: i do not know if it is because I bought these renewed or if this is standard, bought these headphones have a background hum if you have no sound playing though them. Given how expensive they are, to me, this is not acceptable. They need to be plugged into a computer usb port for power. Its not enough to plug them into a usb port, they need to be plugged into a "computer" usb port that can supply them with enough power, otherwise they will not turn on.Mic has a lot of background nice (seems to me that it is too sensitize and picks up everything) . I was able to bypass this by using an audio card that has noise cancellation for the mic input.

Don't believe the bad reviews
OK, this headset is amazing!!! I can only Assume that the bad reviews are from people that don't have a clue how to adjust their sound settings i have an older gigabyte z97 gaming 5 mother board and the built in sound works pretty damn good after i got the settings dialed in. No sound card needed. So out of the box yes this sounds terrible but if you make the rite adjustments, which took me a couple tries to figure out these even sounded really good with music. Now when i play shooters its almost like cheating the sound is so accurate that i have a nearly perfect sense of where enemies are around me. This really opened up my eyes on how flawed virtual surround sound is and i will do my best to never have to go back to that. The build quality for a gaming headset is really good in my opinion and i feel like my head shape is on the smaller side and it fits me good. The ear cups are large and deep so they are comfortable around your ears not on top which i can not stand. I brought the refurbished version to save some money and it was well worth it basically is brand new, came with everything it was supposed to come with in a way less flashy card board box from Razer. The only cons to me is the price is not for everyone and wireless version would be even better but i am sure would be double the price
