Kolpin X-Factor Plow in a Box - 10-0520

The media could not be loaded.    This is the perfect plow! Very easy to put together, I purchased this for my Honda Recon. I can tell you all of the negative reviews that I have seen on here, I almost did not buy it, I didn't even know if it was going to fit LOL (I have a 2000 Honda Recon in mint condition.)To make a long story short, it arrived Dec. 8-9th, It took about two hours to assemble, (Use common sense on bolt sizes.) (The main bracket fit perfect to my frame.) Then it sat in my driveway until today and it snowed..... This thing plowed my driveway & over 1.5 miles of a two lane blacktop road in Gatlinburg, TN 2,500ft on top of the mountain where I live. I have included a video. Once I finished the road, and my driveway (County here only salts & plows main roads.) They were all cleaned no snow or ice left in about 6-8 passes. This is a great plow, not even a scratch on it. Very heavy construction of blade, you would have to be an idiot to hurt this blade or bend it unless you rammed into something going 40mph. I also used a 3100lb winch to lift. Highly Recommended. This comes unassembled in a heavy box. It took an hour with air tools to assemble (after painting the silver blade section black). All necessary hardware is included and the instructions are easy to follow. The frame mount is a universal type, I mounted this on a Honda Rancher 420 and had to grind several of the mounting holes in order to make it fit. The plow has been good so far, the wear bar shows very little wear after one winter and should be easy to change when necessary. I recommend this plow for someone who has a reasonable set of tools and doesn't mind a little grinding and cutting to make things fit.

I live in Minnesota and we have gotten a lot of snow and have used this plow tons. I have a 04 sportsman 700, this was not a direct bolt on kit for this wheeler. on installation i tried the both opions on bolting it on: option 1 was to use the two supplied steel plated to sandwitch the frame but the spacers were to long, option 2 was supplied u-bolts fist issue there were only two should have been four and secound they a weak u-bolts. long story short i ended up welding the mounting plate to the wheeler and used the u-bolts as a secondary. this was very easy to put togethter, there is a lot of bolts, and a little customizing, but it plow snow great.

Lasted 3 winters, now I am searching for a new one. The parts are cheap!!!! I have had to rig so many fixes for this darn plow it has been a pain to say the least. The plow itself is descent quality other than the middle section with the gray is a weak point and the plow has bent in different directions at that spot. Do yourself a favor, there are better plows for the money that will last a lot longer!

This is a light duty plow. Purchased for our Kawasaki Bruteforce. The universal mounting hardware wasn't completely compatible. The mounting pins were easy to install, but just as easy to release/fail at the most inconvenient times. I replaced those. The plow frame over time has bent, and in the spring I will have to straighten & reinforce the bottom portion of the plow frame. I estimate that that will be an 6 to 8 man hour job, to the tune of an additional $80 -$100 in materials. I contacted Kolpin customer support services and supplied them with photographs. They insisted that they would be forwarded to their Engineering division, and that I would be contacted. They never got back to me. The fact that this is a universal plow kit, there is some lateral/side to side movement in plow. It is still better than shoveling and/or snow blowing! You get what you pay for, so if you are not handy with tools, this may not be what you are looking for. I like the fact that this makes the ATV a 4 season vehicle. I hope this is helpful.

this product is terrible unless you plan on plowing 1 inch of snow. I have 06 bombardier and the designers of this plow thought you can mount this plow with a 4 in square to a straight bar frame. It is impossible. there is not enough strength to keep the plow from going left or right, Additional bracketing at a minimum is needed. brackets that hold plow to frame are not thick enough. This unit takes a lot of time to install.. the good things about this unit are, it is pretty and the front flex mechanism works great.

Got this in July of 2016 for 271 on sale!! The plow is nice not heavy duty but good for driveways!! The mount shifts sometimes and fit my 2011 Great!! But bought new quad the 2017 which polaris put the battery in the way Where the mount goes!! Saw in here someone lifted the battery up and put the mount on!! But the front shaft is there too!! So I can try that or a new mount is 80 dollars!! Maybe a call to kolpin is in order!! But it's a good plow!!

I just mounted this plow on my 2011 Arctic Cat TRV 700. The hardest part was assembling the plow, but it was easy. The part that mounts to the ATV went on in less than 5 minutes. I have yet to plow snow with it, but it looks great and has a good up and down range, plus the blade also pivots left and right (manually). Overall seems like a good quality plow.

Works better then expected. Mounted to a 98 Suzuki king quad. Comes with several different types of mounts for various bikes. Use lock tite to stop mounting bolts from loosening (other buyers have complained of this). Easy to remove on and off, by removing two pins. Select various angles for plowing the snow. Perfect angled width for plowing standard sized sidewalks.

I found the Kolpin X Factor Plow relatively easy to set up. The instructions were okay. Nuts, bolts and other parts were grouped together according to the stage you're working on so that was good. The blade and tongue set together very easily. I have a 2008 Can Am 650 Outlander that I installed the plow onto and it did take a little work. I had to take a couple of the skid plates off so that the top bracket would fit properly above the frame. Then I had to purchase longer bolts and spacers to mount the bottom bracket to the top. It was a bit of monkeying around but it's understandable that there could be some modification required depending on the type of quad. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet so I can't rate performance or durability but I am curious to see how it will perform. My guess is that if you use common sense and don't ram into piles of snow or hit cracks, objects, etc. at high speeds it should be fine.
