What is the advantage of a night vision monocular over a binocular?

It takes time for your eye’s pupil to dilate and see in the dark. With the Prowl, you only look at the LCD screen with one eye, not two. This means your other eye can always stay dilated and help you see your immediate surroundings.

How does digital night vision work?

The Prowl emits infrared light (IR) using two LEDs, invisible to humans. A digital sensor picks up the IR. The image displays on a screen in the viewfinder. The Prowl has a colour display in daytime, black & white at night.

Can the Prowl be helmet mounted?

Yes. In addition to the included head strap, the Prowl night vision monocular now comes with a dovetail helmet mount as standard, compatible with mounting systems like the Wilcox G24.

What is the range of the Prowl at night? Does it work with an infrared flashlight?

The Prowl has a range of approximately 128m (140yd) depending on conditions. This range can be boosted with a handheld IR flashlight (such as the Nightfox XB5) to around 165m (180yd).

What is the weight of the Prowl ?

The Prowl has been designed with head mounting in mind, and we've made it as light as possible: just 255g (9oz). This weight includes the integrated lithium battery.
