Extremely happy with this case and it’s grippy, robust design. Very reasonable price. A few small issues too.
My MaoMi Fire 7 case has a grippy, bold, rugged design, and a pleasing blue color. After exactly one month of use, I am extremely happy with this case. I can hold it very securely in one hand, with the thumb against the upper edge of the case and the fingertips engaging the deep “tire treads” on the back. I cannot speak to the shock absorbing capabilities since I have never dropped it. I found the case easy to install on the Fire 7. The apertures for the camera, micro-B USB, microphone, and 3.5 mm stereo ports are all perfectly aligned. No problem recharging the Fire 7 in this case. The price is very reasonable, given these features and benefits. However, there are several issues to consider. 1) There is no aperture in the case for access to the microSD card slot. Using the microSD card slot will require removal from the case. 2) Zero documentation. I had to go back on the Amazon website to be sure I had things properly oriented and aligned. 3) The kickstand supports only “landscape mode”, no support for “portrait mode”. 4) I found the initial deployment of the kickstand to be very challenging. Resisting the urge to employ a large, sharp tool, patience and a thumbnail finally opened the kickstand with no damage. 5) Three sides of the case have plastic surfaces which are knurled, greatly improving grip. Inexplicably, the fourth side has no knurling. 6) The initial pressure to activate the power button seemed excessive, but has diminished to an acceptable level with use.Despite these issues, I would promptly purchase this case again. I hope MaoMi will soon offer this case upsized to fit my new Fire HD 10.

Super-Meh!!
Awesome junk!If you're buying this because it looks all grippy, well, join this sucker. Darn thing looks like a tire so I figured it would grip like one. Will the shenanigans ever end? But, if you're buying it because it looks pretty rad then you're in luck. It looks like a tire, stuck to the back of your Kindle! That really rocks because mine is a rebuild so what better to put on it than a retread tire? I'm pretty sure they got this section off a Power Wheels that visited Goodyear. I am convinced that I can tape this to the bottom of a flat tire (non-driven wheel only!!) and slide my way to a tire store on it. It, and the kindle within, should get me the better part of a few miles, I'm sure of it! The screen should last a half mile all on its own, they're tough as the nails in your tire! I think you could use these to throw the authorities off your trail too! I'm no criminal mastermind so you're gonna hafta figure out the sneaky stuff all on your own. I'm not responsible for the crime and mayhem that the previous sentences will surely cause.Oh yeah, if you've got weak sissyfingers like me then this case is like a gym for your fingertips! Do some reps, feel the burn! The buttons were designed by gigantic people from Siberia with tremendous finger strength who forgot to adjust the amount of force needed to a level that the rest of the world can manage. People that big are bad at pretty much everything. That's pretty much all I've figured out about it so far though I'm sure many hidden features and uses are just waiting to be discovered!I paid like $0.12 or something for it, something about falling off a truck at the distribution center, so I'm not troubled in the least. I wouldn't pay $200 for one, that's for sure, but $10 or whatever is less than you pay for a haircut and you buy bad haircuts all the time, amiright? Sad/True.Just buy it, you'll be ambivalently "umm-satisfied" and only out less than it takes to make your hair look the way it does.

Better than some, but I'm going back to the original case
Updated review - easy to install and appears rugged enough for its purpose. This has a better kickstand than the cloth-like case w/ the diagonal-folding cover. However, you come to miss the extra screen protection of the traditional case w/ cover, and the deal-killer for me was not being able to hang it on the seat in front of me to watch movies on the plane.

There are better cases...this is a no go for me as the stand breaks very soon after use and the buttons are difficult to push...
The stand breaks very soon after use. The buttons are hard to use with this cover on...you have to REALLY press down very hard which doesn't make it kid user friendly for my daughter. It is a very sturdy case but the stand and button issue make this a bad purchase in my opinion.

Ok, unless you want to actually use your tablet.
Two stars because the power and volume buttons don't line up exactly right or there's some excess rubber material up in there or something, in any event you have to really jam on the buttons to get any response from the tablet. This was for my child's tablet, so I'm all the time having to turn it on or adjust the volume for her because she can't press hard enough to make it work, last time I broke a nail and it was very traumatic. It's a 'case' in that it holds a tablet I guess.

Stands and buttons to hard to use
I ordered 2 of these on September 19th it is now Oct. 23 and this case is broken. The stands were so hard to open that they needed pryed open. Both stands broke off within 3 weeks. The buttons are so hard to press that they make them nonfunctional for a kid, my Granddaughters are 7 and 10 and they had so much trouble adjusting the volume. Since it is past time to return they are now headed for the landfill. There are better cases, I would not recommend this case.

Great tablet protector, but the buttons are difficult to press.
We got this tablet protector for my 5 year old. He's dropped it a few times and there isn't any damage to his electronic device. So that's great :) Only downfall I've seen is that the buttons on the cover (that go over the sound bar, on/off switch/etc) are extremely hard to press. I wish the material used in these areas was softer, like a silicone. Instead they're super stiff and don't like to depress when pushed.

Waste on money for this
Bought this for my 4 year old to protect her brand new fire tablet she got for christmas. She had it and dropped her tablet and the screen shattered. So much for protecting the tablet. Waste on money for this. It was supposed to protect it and it was from about two feet that it fell. total waste and a very upset little girl.
