Fabulous!
Wasn't sure what to expect when i bought this, i thought it might give me some insight into the coast to coast walk but it's much more than that. Its a simple Idea, four middle aged men decide to recreate a walk they did when they were in their early twenties but something happend to them all between then and now.....life! They all embark on the trip with a ton of problems and hilariously a ton of secrets which slowly (and sometimes accidentally) reveal themselves in an emotional roller-coaster of comedy and tragedy. The cinematography is beautiful, the soundtrack amazing, I loved this film!

Fact is fact!
This film appeals on all levels. You can empathise with all the characters who are not overly complex, just your average Joe (or Caroline or Jen). Money worries, wasted life, sexual problems. We've all been there, done that, worn the t-shirt and thrown up over it.It's going to be one to watch over and over again for the comedy, the great locations, the classic one liners and a cast we can all relate to. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves when it's time to hand out the gongs.

More of a stroll than a journey
I bought this on Amazon while I was doing the C2C walk with my family. We ordered in on route so it would be waiting for us when we got home. We all sat down excitedly to watch it the night after we got back from our own amazing journey. Unfortunately we didn't find it the best British comedy we've seen recently (that was 'The Angels Share), Our main enjoyment came more from seeing the places we had visited. The story is simple and I would say you should watch it for a quiet night it but you wont be curled up laughing like I expected. On the walk we had talked as a family about what the characters might come up against but these weren't in the film and it was much more subtle.

Lumsden should be proud of this film
Tremendous film. Pathos, comedy, darkness and light from four grumpy blokes taking footsteps back to their coast to coast walk in their youth.Richard Lumsden is a genius in more opinion, musician too. Thoroughly nice bloke.Richard LumsdenKarl TheobaldJeremy SwiftNed Dennehy

Very Poor
This is almost your standard out of the box middle aged journey genre type film. 4 middle aged men each with their own personal tragedies filmed in a fly on the wall style. The characters are very stereotypical of the genre just exaggerated to annoying levels. If you want to watch this to view the route then don't bother as most of the filming takes place inside pubs.

Enteraining
Very funny, really enjoyed it but hoped to see a bit more scenery especially when they arrived in Robin Hoods Bay, one of my favourite places. But despite that it is well worth watching.

Rarely have I enjoyed a movie so much
Rarely have I enjoyed a movie so much. A truly great British comedy well up there with Withnail and I. A bonus was the beautiful cinematography which used the Lake District scenery to full effect. Strongly recommended. Why was this film not shown in my local cinema? A real indictment on the state of the cinema in Britain.

Walking and Comedy....it's a winner!
As I'm into long distance walking I really wanted to see this film at the cinema. When it didn't get screened locally I just had to buy the dvd instead. A very enjoyable film even if you're not interested in walking, funny throughout and the scenery is magnificent (I have to say that as I'm a Yorkshire-man). When I saw a large poster in the pub in Robin Hoods Bay I thought it was a wind-up,luckily it wasn't.
