Q: Are they waterproof and I mean really waterproof to use for ice fishing?

I took the extra time and sealed the seams before I used them for ice fishing. Standing in up to 4" of slush I have had no leakage. I HAVE had a problem with my feet sweating in these since they are so damn warm. If you do any hiking in them, bring a pair of extra socks to put on. My experience is that sweat leads to damp socks leads to cold feet.

Q: How thick are the boots at the top? Will pants fit over the top of them?

I have the baffin constructor about the same size as these, my wrangler riggs will fit over them, but I normally tuck my pants inside, we get alot of snow here, baffin boots are the warmest boots ever, and they offer replacement boot liners which is amazing
