Much cuter in person, and comfortable for long walks.
I was on the fence about these sandals for awhile, but they are much, much cuter in person than they look in the product photos. I'll include some photos so more people can get an idea of what they actually look like on someone.I have wide feet and usually wear 7.5 - 8 in women's shoes. I assumed the size 8 would fit perfectly, but when I got them, I didn't feel like my feet were sitting correctly or as comforably as they should in the footbed and even after adjusting the straps, the sandals would flop slightly when I walked and my pinky toe kept popping in and out of the horizontal strap (which hurt when my toenail would catch on the strap).I've never been able to fit into a size 7 shoe, but with how awkwardly the 8s fit, I decided to order a pair of these in a 7 anyway just to see if they'd fit better and then send back whichever pair fit poorest. The 7s ended up fitting nicely, aside from the strap that goes just under the adjustable velcro one on top of the foot; this one is a little snug and doesn't adjust, but I'm hoping it will loosen with use over time. Better to be a tad too snug than floppy. These sandals have been great for hiking so far and I'll bet they will be great for kayaking later this summer!

Love them, now that I've worn them!
I used to think I was a 6.5 wide, but then someone measured my foot and said I'm a 7. So, it works well, but there's one thing. The strap that goes over the top of the foot, but under the adjustable strap (in the picture is is the second 'loop' strap) cuts down into the top of my foot. I've been wearing them to see if I could stretch it, and sort of yes, sort of no. I want to wear these exploring Hawaii next week, so I'm going to stick with them. Overall, I wouldn't rave about the comfort. I compare all shoes to good running shoes, not strappy, floppy sandals. I always feel like it is a trade-off for comfort (foot health) and fashion. These almost fit both, but really not quite either. Still looking for the ultimate shoe...UPDATE Oct 20, 2016: I wore these in Hawaii as planned and they worked beautifully! I'm not really a sandal/flip-flop person, but I was hiking up over lava flows, uneven trails and onto and into the surf without any problems. Others were fighting with their flip-flops, and my husband wouldn't take off his running shoes. The strap loosened up with some pulling, so that was great. The ONLY complaint is that stones got under my feet since there are lots of pebbles on trails. They are supportive and flexible. And...after seeing my Hawaii pics, they are adorable!!

They are great! I can wear them in water
This is my 2nd pair of Hi-Tec sandals! They are great! I can wear them in water, along the beach, a river, through grass wet with dew, and they dry out, & still fit great! I wore them last fall walking 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain. They were my 2nd pair of shoes, so I wore them every evening & 8 of my 35 days walking to give my feet a rest from my hiking boots & let blisters heal. I had bought very expensive name brand sandals, but these Hi-Tec sandals surpassed all others I purchased. Light weight, waterproof, good arch support, comfortable, no smell after walking for hours. I bought a 2nd pair though my first pair still have lots of tread on them. This is a great everyday sandal that can take a lot of abuse & still look & feel great! I have found the perfect sandal for my feet & my lifestyle!

Great value for great price
Ordered these for my wwife, who had extensive back surgery a while ago and needs footwear that is comfortable, lightweight, durable and can even be worn in casual dress situations. It was important for her to have the walking/running shoe style of sole to help her glide through each step she takes. She usually wore sandals or flip-flops (shower thongs, actually, no matter how many sequins you put on the damned things) but needed the strap in the back so she wouldn't need to "use her toes" to keep them from sliding.I've gotten her North Face and Merrell sandals in the past, and these are her favorites. Gonna order some more in different colors for her.Excellent value for the reasonable price.

Great shoe for a great price!
I absolutely love these shoes I bought them twice! The only negative I have is that the second pair I got the Velcro was worn out really fast so the heel strap kept coming off, but it was not a problem with my first pair. To be honest it could just have been because I abused them so much taking them in water and sand and hiking for miles in them and sometimes stepping on the back heel strap instead of properly putting it on to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night while camping. These shoes are great and 1/3 of the price of chacos that I would continue to buy these :-) hi tec is a European brand - I also have their hiking boots- and I know from spending a lot of time in England- they have quality outdoor gear for a fraction of what the US has. Hope you enjoy your shoes

I really like these, bought them for a music festival so ...
I really like these, bought them for a music festival so I could have sturdy shoes for dancing without crappy flip flops breaking and such. However they're definitely not super attractive haha. The soles are similar to a running shoe minus the 'upper portion,' so don't expect to be winning any outfit of the day awards. However, they do great on function! I'm normally a 7.5 but they didn't offer half-sizes. I went for the 8 and while they look a bit clunky/wide they fit well with the adjustable straps. Will report back on functionality post-festival!Update: I wore them to the festival and they gave me huge blisters on my heels! Definitely build up tolerance before walking more than 3 miles max (I did 14), and carry those huge 3 inch bandaids. Otherwise, they're super comfy! I'll be prepping better this year so as to avoid the blister problem.
