Classic monster styling, brilliant new dial!
I've always been fond of Seiko watches, but to be honest I have to acknowledge the quality control issues they're known to have. On their dive watches, it's very common to get a misaligned bezel. By that, I mean it simply doesn't click in and line up with the 12 o'clock index on the chapter ring. The slight misalignment doesn't bother some, but to me it's a deal breaker. I purchased this watch and received one with a misaligned bezel. I returned it and got one that came perfectly aligned. It's luck of the draw. As long as you understand that can be an issue with purchasing a Seiko dive watch online, you're going in eyes wide open. With that being said, the watch is an excellent design. The Monster is a bit of a cult classic, amplified by the fact that they are frequently discontinued and we generally thought they were gone for good. This third generation iteration of the watch released with the upgraded 6r15 movement, which is a step up in quality at the expense of a missing day complication. Integrated into this new design is a cyclops magnifier for the date, which is a polarizing feature. I personally think it adds a bit of aesthetic flair to the watch, but I could easily live without it. It comes down to personal preference on that front.Speaking of the crystal, the faithful Seiko fans will already know of course that this watch does not include a sapphire crystal. Seiko seems averse to including sapphire, which some view as an affront at this price point. Anything over $300 USD, in the opinion of many, should include a sapphire crystal. It's usually a deal breaker for me, but Seiko makes a good enough dive watch in other ways that I don't mind. Since they're so popular, it's very easy to find an aftermarket sapphire crystal if you so desire. To cover the rest of the externals here, the case design is original and very unique in appearance. The first time I saw a Monster, I really didn't like it. As they say, it's a grower. After seeing more and more variants of this watch, I began to understand the appeal. You will think this is a much larger watch than it appears to be on the wrist. The dimensions seem like they'll be too large, but when you see it in person you'll appreciate the compact nature of the watch. This is mostly the result of very short lugs and a more modest 20mm lug width, as opposed to the common 22mm of other Seiko divers. The bezel is partially shrouded and must be gripped from the 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions in order to rotate, which I personally like. It makes accidental adjustments a rare occurrence. Additionally, the scalloped portions of the case and the bezel add a unique tactile experience which allows the user to rotate the bezel in 5 minute increments by feel alone. Unfortunately, the curvature of these portions do not perfectly align on the case and the bezel. A close examination is needed to notice this element, and it can't be discerned by feel alone. At this price point, I feel that it is within reason but it is a nitpick regardless.Internally, I find the 6r15 to be a reliable movement. It's not quite as smooth in its seconds hand sweep as a typical 28.8k bhp movement, as it runs at a mere 21.6k bph. The result is a more jagged sweep than you may be accustomed to. The advantage is that you achieve a 50 hour power reserve. If you keep your watch on a winder when not in use, or you simply wear it every single day, then this power reserve will not matter. If you're the type that leaves it on a desk for a few days over the weekend, then maybe this is useful to you. Personally, I would prefer a smoother sweep but I'm just not that picky. It's a reliable movement and it keeps accurate time for this price point. It's easy to service and is considered a "work horse." I could easily go back to the 4r movements and be satisfied, but I simply can't complain about this one.In this particular model, the star of the show is the dial. At this point, there are a lot of unique options available for the third generation Monster. The blue coral, the upcoming frost (SBDC073) and the sunburst orange "Nemo" (SBDC075) all stand out. I purchased this Jade green because green dials are much harder to come by than blue, and it truly is brilliant. In some lights, it appears to be a stunning teal, in others it appears more emerald, and in low light it almost has an inky flat hunter green appearance. I'm really satisfied with this colorway, and it has the wife seal of approval for me as well.Of course in low light, that Monster lume kicks in. Seiko divers are known for their brilliant application of Lumibrite, which glows a nuclear green when coming fresh out of the sun. In my experience, it remains legible throughout the entire night and I've never been unable to read the watch. The thick applied index markers and well-designed hands leave ample room for such a wonderful lume application. The bracelet has 4 micro-adjust points, which makes it easy to get a good fit. I find it remarkably comfortable for a stock solid metal bracelet. It utilizes a pin and collar system for sizing, which requires a little more finesse to size. I advise you to take it to a professional and let them know it's pin and collar. If not properly seated into the collar, the pins can come loose and your watch may break off your wrist at an inopportune time. There are many aftermarket straps that work well with this watch if you prefer. There are both brushed and polished surfaces on the case and bezel, so almost anything will work. At this price point, I do feel that a stamped clasp on the stock bracelet is a little underwhelming. Again, that's just how Seiko does things and it's something we take with the good.Overall, the watch is extremely wearable. It looks and feels great, and really plays well with the light. This won't be my last Seiko Monster. I really don't think you can go wrong with this stunning green dial. I haven't seen such a great looking green dial in anything at this price point. Get it while you can, these things tend to become hard to find after a while.

First time buyer
I have never bought an automatic watch before. Originally was looking for a dress watch. My research landed on some divers. The video creator had an original "Orange Monster". Never heard of it, but liked the look. As he reviewed the other two, he mentioned that he had a 3rd generation monster. The Jade color. Or Green Monster, as I like to call it. Congrads Boston. Looked amazing. Anyhow, I was able to order one on Amazon, as I don't think they are available in the States, yet. Was a little nervous about this, due to the fact that I would have to ship back to Japan if the watch showed up with a problem. Short story long, the watch was perfect. The bracelet was very nice with an easy to use clasp. The crown extends nicely with positive stops so you know which function you are adjusting. The color of the face was better than advertised. Movement seems very smooth, and the watch was very easy to initially wind. Although I don't feel its wrong, I'm not a fan of the cyclops magnifier. I've only owned this watch for a couple of weeks, so I can't comment on longevity/durability yet. I have replaced the bracelet with a cloth band and where it all the time. I learned that automatic watches will never compete with quartz watches for accuracy, but that really doesn't seem to be a problem. I haven't had to reset the time yet. Price was at the top end of what I wanted to pay for a new watch that I hadn't planned on buying, but I am not disappointed in the value. I like having a very unique casual watch, so I'm not recommending anyone else buy this. ;-)

Great 6R15 movement and watch face is beautiful. Prospex line is a nice upgrade over the SKX.
I have owned several Seiko Monster watches, SNZ, and SKX series. The "SZ"S Gen 3 monster is the best in my opinion for the movement and the quality of the case and band. Hackable movement plus hand or auto wind. You can feel the quality when you wind this watch. The topaz color of this Japanese model is amazing. You cannot go wrong with the ISO 6245 certified dive watches whether you are a serious diver or just want a watch you know can take a beating and perform great. Right now the watch is getting +1 sec a day right out of the box that is beyond amazing. I will update future post to track the accuracy of this Seiko 6R15 movement as I would expect -30 to + 20 per day for this movement. The Seiko SKX watches are great for the price range. However this "SZS" Gen 3 monster, although double an SKX price is worth the upgrade in my opinion for the quality of the movement and finish of the watch. The band has the diver suit extension and is well made. I do wish Seiko used screws in their watch bands as pins and collar are more difficult to set.

the most accurate Seiko I own.
This limited model jade green monster is finished with great attention to detail. I installed a strap code super engineer which looks great and is tough like this beauty of a watch. The 6R15 is getting around +3 so far in two days. This is the most accurate Seiko I personally own so far. Its not too big and sits on the wrist comfortably with highly polished areas and brushed areas mixed. The jade green dial changes colors in different light and is a very beautiful color. I must assume that this Seiko went through more attention to timing and testing than other Seiko's since this a limited model. If you get one of these for your collection big or small you will be glad you did. Yes its not cheap but they will only go up in price. I recommend this Jade Monster totally.

Very nice Jade Monster
The watch works perfectly, I think it is a little overpriced. Only concern is the bracelet. It digs into my wrist. I replaced it with a silicone strap from Gadget Wraps. So much confort!!!

Awesome dial color
Very fast shipping. Beautiful watch. Not sure if a different box was substituted since it was not a "Prospex" box but a generic Seiko watch box. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. All papers, tags and warranty card were correct.

Jade Monster
The media could not be loaded. Great seller. 5 days from Japan to Tennessee. Product well packed and Bezel perfectly aligned. Watch in person is awesome. If considering a Monster the Jade is amazing.
