Critical Whey Protein Powder - Vanilla Ice Cream

Flavourful, not too sweet tasting. Mixes well. Doesn't get gritty even if you double up. Good value.

I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks now, I got on to the brand after trying their diet whey when it was on offer at Morrisons and was completely fine but I wanted to drop the diet additions - i just don’t see the point. And here I am. I actually like this one, I prefer to Optimum Nutrition and LA Whey, which are the only other ones I’ve tried. I usually mix this with water in a bowl of museli and blueberries and I fond that it mixes very easily with regular stirring and it ends up having a nice, almost creamy texture. The vanilla flavour is nice and just right in terms of strength. I’m happy with this and have no complaints. I look forward to my post-training breakfast now…

Good quality protien powder, easy on the wallet too.

I do like this product, the flavour is great but from a personal opinion I do prefer using Optimum Nutrition protein powder. The main reason I say this is ON powder isn't as fine so doesn't stick to every surface like this powder does, also with this powder it seems to stick to the bottom of the shaker making it a tiny bit more difficult to clean. Overall still a good product and does what it's suppose to, just not my personal favourite.

I purchased the vanilla ice cream flavour. The powder mixes extremely well with no clumping and tastes great. Definitely worth a try.

Originally bought caramel latte and I couldn’t get past the taste (2 stars). Then decided to try Vanilla ice cream flavour - AMAZING taste and texture. If you’re looking for a dessert to kick the cravings: scoop of this + a can of Diet Coke = a low cal coke float.

I bought two of these at the same time, which in hindsight wasn’t the best decision. I finished the first tub and then opened the second, hoping my experience might improve, but unfortunately it didn’t. The consistency is quite strange. It thickens even more than a typical casein protein, which is surprising considering it’s marketed as a “critical protein” blend. Instead of mixing into a smooth shake, it becomes extremely dense — almost like a pudding. It doesn’t blend particularly well and feels much heavier than expected. As for the taste, it’s not great. The vanilla flavour reminds me of powdered milk, with a slightly artificial aftertaste. The powder itself also has an unusual, almost flowery texture that I’ve not come across in other protein products. On top of that, it doesn’t sit well with my digestion. I initially thought my body might just need time to adjust, but that hasn’t been the case. Overall, not something I’d purchase again.

The protein is good quality and tastes good but is quite thick so doesn't blend that well with milk and becomes quite frothy leaving a lot of shake in your mixer/bottle. Doesn't blend that well if you're planning to make protein pancakes for example. Not great, but not terrible.

So delicious and did not irritate digestion
