I withdraw my first review. My initial, very critical review of this battery is invalid because I learned after I submitted the review that the battery was not compatible with the Roomba 980 therefore any criticism is invalid. Face palm on me for failing to note in the item description that it was not compatible with the 980, duh. However, notwithstanding the fact that the battery is not designed to run in a 980 it performs all most as good as the original battery; it only lacks a little more staying power to match the original and I've been informed by the company that they're working on a compatible 980 battery. In addition the company graciously offered me a partial refund so that's a customer service five star rating. So, I give this battery a top rating because it performs all most as good as a battery it was never intended to replace.

Battery fit and works just fine on my unit. When bought the irobot it don't have the battery. I've seen this hour run for over an hour with the new battery. It ran so long because it kept riding around looking for the base hahaha. This battery works good tho 👍🏽👍🏽

Lithium batteries work much better than the ni-mh in electric drills, shavers and other appliances. However, my Roomba 780 is designed to charge ni-mh cells not lithium. Circuitry within the lithium battery performs the necessary changes in charging voltage, wave form, frequency or whatever to adapt to the Roomba’s ni-mh charging circuit. This circuitry includes a temperature sensing (thermistor) ability that will shut down the little robot if necessary.And here lies my problem. I purchased this lithium battery to replace a ni-mh battery for a 7-year old Roomba 780 and it runs amazingly great for a total time period of over 4-hours! However, every 60-minutes, or less, the Roomba would stop, sing its error melody, and beep 3-times. Immediately pressing the clean button would provide another 60-minutes of run time. This pattern repeats until the battery is depleted and a declaration made to “Recharge Roomba”. It seems to me that this is a defective battery circuit problem and, in particular, a thermistor defect as I now found it to be room temperature dependent. At, or below, 83 degrees Fahrenheit the Roomba works great. Above this threshold, problems ensue.So, in discussing these glitches with customer service, I was asked to take voltage readings and take a picture. Based on a voltage reading and photo, the battery was declared good. In other contacts, Nastima declared that it must be a wheel obstruction. When I suggested that the problem could be with battery circuitry I was informed that their circuits were fine. In the end, Nastima did offer to refund or replace the battery but I decided that I could live with the defect.-----------------------------Addendum (8-28-2021): The first battery lasted 6-months before completely dying. A second battery sent to me under warranty worked great for another 6-months before dying. The lifespan, which I expected to exceed that of my previous Ni-Mh batteries, is in fact, far shorter

Works excellent! My 10 YEAR OLD Roomba will now run non-stop for two hours! It runs for an amazingly long time before needing to recharge compared to a my second, brand new Roomba with its new OEM battery. Installation is very easy, takes 5 minutes. I might consider buying another of these batteries for my new Roomba so too will run for hours. Great upgrade for the price!

Based on the product description, I was hoping to get more run time out of this battery than the one that came with my Roomba 980. Sadly, that's not the case, but it does work for just as long as the original battery, so I'm not really complaining. The description says it will run for 2.5-3.5 hours on a charge. I find it's more like 2 hours (on eco mode), and then it charges itself. I have a large home, and it usually takes about 6-7 hours for my Roomba to complete the entire first floor. The description also says that this battery will last for 1000 charges instead of 200 like on the original battery. I was at 300 charges when I replaced the battery, and the only reason I replaced the battery was because the Roomba wasn't charging anymore when I put it on the charging dock. It ended up not being a battery issue but a problem with the charging deck cord. Since this battery was so inexpensive, I decided to just keep it in and see if I could get my house vacuumed a little quicker. Our Roomba 980 was born in February, 2016. By now, the factory battery would only last 15 or 20 minutes. I had a concern about dropping in a Lithium Ion battery, because of issues with heat while operating. I thank the reviewer who ran down the source of this problem (operating in a hot environment), but assumed that I would never use the 980 in a hot environment. We use the 980 by going over the same rooms 4 or 5 times. This makes sure the area is clean. This battery surprised me because of the 1 1/2 hours that our 980 would run between charges. I always worry about fires when dropping in a Lithium Ion battery when charging, but using a non-contact thermometer, heat during charge was not an issue. On an older appliance, I can always use a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with the same form factor, but this battery has much more capacity than a Lithium Iron Phosphate.

I purchased this as an economical replacement for my original Roomba battery that wasn’t holding a charge. From the outset, this battery didn’t perform much better than the old one. After only 6 months, it will no longer recharge at all. I contacted Nastima because supposedly it has a 12 month limited warranty. I have received no response. I do not recommend this product.Update: As a result of submitting this review, I finally heard from Nastima. I was given a troubleshooting suggestion, which I had already tried with no success. Nastima gave me the choice of a replacement battery or a refund. I chose the refund and it was issued promptly.

Battery quit after two months light use. Seller would not honour warranty.

Replacement battery for my Roomba 677. Works great! Last battery lasted 5+ years. Hope this one is as good.

Like few others mentioned in review, the battery died after 1 year 1 week. Terrible quality. When use, it's fine. But who wish to buy a battery to use for just 1 year?THINK AGAIN BEFORE BUY!

Product is easy to install and use. Arrived as described. This battery is not fully compatible with the iRobot series, as it does not resolve the Err5 issue when charging. Other than that works as it should
