Not cheap, but you do (mostly) get what you pay for
I bought this as a gift for my better half who (a) shouldn't eat chocolate, and (b) loves L’Occitane products. Long and short: she loved it!Firstly, the box is big! It unfolds to a dramatic display. It's got good weight to it too - it feels like a quality product, and it promises a lot! The selection of products inside is, I’m told, a pretty broad range, and she squealed with delight when she opened each door.Several reviewers have complained about the value for money. L’Occitane is not a cheap brand (look at the cost of their Shea hand cream, for instance), so you either get their proposition or you don’t. And advent calendars aren't a cheap way to buy anything - we all know that. And I rather agree with the reviewer who was disappointed with the nail file - it seemed uninspired compared with all the other stuff. But actually, when I compare the amount of product in the box with the list prices of the non-festive versions, it seems pretty good to me - December 24th, for example sells for about £18 just on its own.L’Occitane products are expensive for a reason - you don't need a lot to get the benefit. Even though she was using the products every day as she opened each door, my other half still bought a basket to keep all the bottles and tubes in while she used them. At this rate, there’ll still be some left in April. So, it’s overall a really good selection of samples from a premium range. If you (or the intended recipient) cares about premiumness, I think this is a brilliant gift that will last for months. If all you care about is quantity, you won't like it at all.Postscript. L’Occitane, please take note: the nail file and a cuticle pusher was a nice addition to the box (she could use the nail products right away), but to truly represent your premium brand, it needed to be something special. This wasn’t it. Please: either put in something that says quality (like a miniature glass file) or stick to what you know.

Daily delights in skincare
Opening a new little surprise each day from this Advent Calendar has been a delightful experience. Each product is a treat, offering a nice variety from L'OCCITANE's range. The scents and textures are a daily luxury. It's a joy discovering which product is next, making the countdown to the holidays even more special. The calendar's design is beautiful, adding a touch of elegance to my dresser.

24 days of disappointment- Greedy Greedy Company - you are paying for a printed box!
I bought this for my wife and at the same time bought two Cath Kidston advent calendars for my mum(s). As such, I have been able to compare each morning the gifts. The CK calendars were half the cost, yet each gift is 3x the size in volume. For example you will get 30ml Cath Kidston hand cream as opposed to 10ml L’Occitane…Though don’t get excited, Most of the L’Occitaine gifts are liquid soaps. (I assume this is a metaphor of the brand washing their hands of customers).Today’s door of disappointment was billed as a “Set manicure nail file”, yet delivered up a wooden tooth pick and cheap emory board. This is a terrible advertisement for what is meant to be a premium Beauty Brand. It doesn’t even deserve 1 Star at this price.Avoid and buy Kath Kidston. (what I will be doing next year)
