OtterBoxDEFENDER SERIES Case for Samsung Galaxy S9 - Retail Packaging - BIG SUR (PALE BEIGE/CORSAIR)

EDITED REVIEW on 1st Oct after 3 weeks use: Case had deformity on the plastic on the inside which i didn't notice at first. After 3 weeks solid use whilst on holiday to PROTECT my phone. NO drops. Opened up when back to find circular piece of my metal edge frame MISSING/ BROKEN OFF. Checked plastic frame housing, there was a lump of plastic on the exact same location. Stupidly scratched at it and it came off before taking a picture. So basically this case has ruined my immaculate phone i am OCD about protecting. REALLY NOT HAPPY. DO NOT BUY.Its OK but you really would expect more from £40's of a case.I had an Otterbox for my iphone and it was amazing. I knew the design had changed for this one - no screen protector for example, but still expected the same sturdy case apart from that. I didn't get it.I spend a lot of time out doors hiking and camping and spend my days on building sites so i wanted a case that would protect my phone from drops onto uneven and rough surfaces. The iphone case was brilliant for this. But this one doesn't remotely compare. The cut out for the camera is HUGE - seems excessive. Definitely large enough for a stone to smash if the phone was to land that way. The lips around the edges of the screen - which from the pictures seemed large - are not. The screen comes up further on the sides than the lips so if the phone was to land on its side your looking at some serious damage there. The bottom and top lips are OK but still could be bigger in my opinion.Now down to how the case is made. Also not great. The rubber portion which is to absorb shock is not as thick as it used to be and there is no thickening on the corners to help with impact. It also doesn't appear to be made very well as there are gaps around the bottom where the rubber does not meet the plastic layer cleanly. It looks almost warped - as if pre owned and warped from opening and shutting of the dust covers on the ports. The material its made from is also a DUST MAGNET. I have only had it sitting on my desk for half a day and the back and sides (back is mottled and sides are ridged) are covered in flecks of dust. That is going to look horrendous when i take it away camping and hiking.To add to the concern on it being pre-owned the box arrived rather beaten up with a rip on the top right hand corner. The dings i can put down to postage but given it was inside a large padded bag the rip can not have occurred from that.Honestly not a great buy. Really wish i had gone with another brand as i feel that any other plastic and rubberised case would have been better.
